2.1 Safety instructions for loading/unloading
WARNING
Severe injuries and bruises
wThe ZZ081x set does not replace the proper loading and unloading of goods.
wGoods that are not loaded and unloaded properly can fall and injure people in the
vicinity.
uLoad and unload incoming and outgoing goods properly and safely.

3 Intended use
The ZZ081x set is a system to detect incoming and outgoing goods in outdoor and indoor areas. The
incoming and outgoing goods are equipped with ID tags and are recorded by RFID read/write heads.
Data such as the loading direction and the time stamp are recorded via the ID tags. The data is
passed on to an ERP system. The ERP system generates results about successful unloading and
loading. The results are sent to the controller via a result file and displayed via a signal light.
The set ZZ081x includes all devices and cables necessary for operation. The ID tags for incoming and
outgoing goods are not included.
The units are pre-programmed. The units DTE830/930, AL1122 and O3Dxxx must be set for the
application. The ZZ081x set can then be put into operation after assembly and electrical connection.

4 Items supplied
The ZZ081x sets are divided into gates and detection of the loading direction.
• Master gate: ZZ0814, ZZ0816
• Extension gate: ZZ0815, ZZ0817
Up to 9 extension gates can be operated on one master gate.
The loading direction of the goods is detected differently by the sets:
• Detection via O3D 3D sensor: ZZ0814, ZZ0815
• Detection via 2x light barrier: ZZ0816, ZZ0817
The device is supplied without installation and connection accessories.
Available accessories: www.ifm.com.
The optimum function is not ensured when using components from other manufacturers.

5 Function
The ZZ081x set is a system to detect incoming and outgoing goods in outdoor and indoor areas. The
incoming and outgoing goods are equipped with ID tags and are recorded by RFID read/write heads.
The ID tags must be designed for the UHF band (ISO 18000-6C EPC Class1 Gen2).
The UHF units included in the ZZ081x set are connected to a controller via TCP/IP. In the controller,
the data is processed and provided via a feedback file.
A program provided by the customer retrieves the feedback file and passes it on to the higher-level
system (ERP, MES, DCS). The higher-level system compares the feedback file with the stored
delivery note. The ERP system then sends its feedback back to the controller via a result file. The
controller evaluates the loading and unloading of the goods via the result file.
Functions included
The ZZ081x set includes the following functions:
• TCP/IP communication with up to 10 DTE830 UHF evaluation units (1x Master Gate and 9x
Extension Gate)
• Detection of the loading direction of the goods optionally via
– O3D 3D sensor
– 2x light barrier
• Creating a feedback file by the controller
• Reading a result file by the controller
• Show status on the display of the controller and the light tower / signal horn
• Simple user interface for DTE830 RFID evaluation unit configuration
Functions not included
The following functions must be provided by the client:
• A program that retrieves the feedback file from the ZZ1124 controller, sends it to the ERP system
and then deletes it from the controller
• Evaluation in the ERP system
• Creation of a result file by the ERP system with pass/fail information
• A program to transfer the result file from the ERP system to the ZZ1124 controller
• Mounting accessories for the units
