ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT! Mount the unit to a solid surface using appropriate

hardware (sold separately). The entire unit could weigh as much as 35

pounds with a water-lled hose and could fall and cause an injury if not

mounted correctly.

1. Choose a mounting location near the water source.

a. The mounting location must be solid and capable of holding the

weight of the hose reel.

b. The location should be low enough to easily pull the hose out for use.

2. Place the the mounting bracket against the wall

and mark the wall using the holes as a template.

• Check if the bracket requires a specic

orientation before marking the wall.

3. Install the bracket.

a. Drill holes in the wall at each marked location.

• Use a hammer drill with masonry drill

bits if the wall is brick, stone or

concrete.

b. Insert the plastic anchors into the holes.

c. Place the bracket on the walls and align the holes with the plastic

anchors.

d. Drive a screw into each plastic anchor until it is solidly held against

the wall. Be careful not use a drill or driver with too much torque, as

it could damage the bracket.

e. Tug the bracket to make sure it is not loose. Tighten the appropriate

screws if there is still some movement.

4. Lift the reel and position it so the swivel pins are above the bracket's

receiver openings. Carefully push the reel pins into the openings until the

reel is seated.

a. Swing the reel from side to side to conrm it moves freely. Remove

the reel from the bracket if it does not move freely and make sure

FIGURE 2.

Page 5 www.princessauto.com / 1-800-665-8685

there is nothing on the pins or in the receiver openings that is

obstructing the movement.

b. Conrm the reel is rmly seated when you place it back into the

bracket.

5. Adjust the stopper to the suitable position when required.

• Loosen the screw holding both halves of the stopper enough to slide

the stopper.

OPERATION

NOTICE! Do not allow the hose to retract without controlling the recoil

speed. Do not let go of the hose when rewinding.

1. Attach the intake hose to the faucet.

2. Slowly pull the outlet hose out of the reel to avoid jarring it.

• Stop pulling the hose out when the hose’s back mark appears. Pulling

beyond that point can damage the hose and mechanism.

3. Introduce slack into the hose and the reel will latch.

4. Once the task is complete, turn o the faucet and open the hose nozzle to

relieve the water pressure.

5. Pull the hose again and the reel will unlatch. Guide the hose back into the

reel by hand until the stopper rests against the reel.

6. Periodically check the hose condition for wear or damage. Check the

swivel body for leakage. Replace any worn, damaged or leaking parts.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

1. Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is ecient, easier to

control and will have fewer problems.

2. Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace damaged or

worn components. Only use identical replacement parts when servicing.

properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so, have a qualied technician

service the tool.

Problem(s) Possible Cause(s) Suggested Solution(s)

The garden

hose will not

fully retract.

1. Retraction

mechanism

jammed or

damaged.

2. Hose stacked on

itself, causing

blockage.

1. Call an authorized technician for

service to x the reel’s internal

spring.

2. Pull the hose out fully and then

carefully guide it back into the

reel, moving the hose from side to

side to allow even distribution on

the reel.

The garden

hose does not

retract at all.

Spring lost tension or

is broken.

Have a qualied technician replace the

spring canister.

Some models allow you to adjust

the tension. The Care & Maintenance

section will have the instruction if this

reel's spring is adjustable.
