Network Parameters Table

An item for a parameter DDNS is newly added on the Network Parameters Table

on page 22 in the Operating Instructions. General modifications are added to the

asterisks and their descriptions for reference on the table including the one for

DDNS. DDNS parameter differs depending on your configuration type. Refer to

Operating Instructions for Network Camera Configuration Type.

*1Many ISP's intentionally block the port number 80 to guard against network

viruses. If your ISP blocks the port number 80, substitute it to another unused

port number.

*2When you use more than one Network Camera with a broadband router, each

Network Camera needs its own port number.

*3The Port Forwarding (IP Masquerade) feature needs to be set to the

broadband router. Refer to page 32 in the Operating Instructions.

*4Refer to the broadband router's manual.

It can restrict the transmit bandwidth.

Operating Instructions

Viewnetcam service

DDNS feature

DDNS feature allows you to access a Network Camera by a domain name like

"xxxxx.viewnetcam.com" after registering for Viewnetcam service.

1. A DHCP server of your ISP assigns a global IP address dynamically to the

router or Network Camera. (Dynamic global IP address)

2. The Network Camera informs the Viewnetcam serverof the global IP address

and domain name assigned to the Network Camera.

3. When you enter the URL including the domain name on the web browser over

the Internet, your PC obtains the global IP address of the Network Camera

registered on the Viewnetcam server.

4. Your PC with the global IP address can access the Network Camera.

Note

If your ISP assigns only a private IP address to the Network Camera, you cannot

use Viewnetcam service. Viewnetcam service requires a global IP address. Ask

your ISP for assigning a global IP address.

Operating Instructions

Notes

• The refresh interval becomes longer as more clients access the

Network Camera.

• The image resolution, image quality and object situation affect the

number of frames in the buffered image.

• If internal memory is filled after clicking [Start Capture], the image

buffering will stop automatically.

• If [Start Capture] is clicked again, buffered images will be all erased,

and new images will be buffered in the internal memory.

• If [Start Capture] is started on one PC while viewing buffered images

on another, the images will be overwritten.

• The internal memory will be divided by the number of trigger settingsin

Image Transfer. If all three trigger settings are enabled, the Network

Camera can buffer approximately 26 frames (KX-HCM10) or 186

frames (KX-HCM230) for each trigger setting at a resolution of 320 x

240.

[Start Capture] : The imageswill be buffered in the internal memory of the

Network Camera. Network traffic, PC performance,

image quality and image resolution influence playing

duration time and the refresh interval of the image. The

resolution is the same as the current image settings. At a

resolution of 320 x 240 in standard, the Network Camera

buffers approximately 80 frames (KX-HCM10) or 560

frames (KX-HCM230).

[Primary] :[Primary] enables you to view the buffered image in the

primary time in the Alarm/Timer mode.

[Secondary] :[Secondary] enables you to view the buffered image in

the secondary time in the Alarm/Timer mode.
