Siemens Modem Block Manual de usuario

INTRODUCTION The SIEMENS Modem Block module is a component of the HUB-4 assembly. Each

Modem Block module provides 1 independent data channel. The HUB-4 can support

up to 4 independent data channels. The Modem Block module mounts on the HUB-4,

COM-2 board, which in turn mounts on the HUB -4 Main-2 board. Refer to the table

below to determine the required modules for the desired configuration.

TABLE 1

HUB-4 CONFIGURATION

Number of

Channels Required Modules

1 1 HUB-4 Main-2, 1 HUB-4 COM-2, 1 Modem Block

2 1 HUB-4 Main-2, 1 HUB-4 COM-2, 2 Modem Blocks

3 1 HUB-4 Main-2, 2 HUB-4 COM-2, 3 Modem Blocks

4 1 HUB-4 Main-2, 2 HUB-4 COM-2, 4 Modem Blocks

PRE-INSTALLATION The Modem Block module has three configuration jumpers: JP1, JP2, and JP3. Refer

to Figure 1 for the location of the jumpers. Set the jumpers to the configuration

shown in Table 2.

modate up to 2 Modem Block modules.

1. To begin mounting a Modem Block module on a HUB-4, COM-2 board,

place the screw end of the 3 spacers through the holes in the top of the

COM-2 board. (Refer to Figure 2.)

2. Secure the spacers in place on the underside of the HUB-4, COM-2 with

the 3 nylon nuts.

3. DO NOT place the Modem Block module on the HUB-4, COM-2 board at
