Safety instructions
When employing the telescopic ladder and the Leitertec-
System©, it is important to be aware of all hazards.
The Leitertec-System© is designed to make working with
telescopic ladders and standard ladders safer. The Leitertec-
System© is expressly not sold as a safety component.
There is always a risk of falling from the telescopic ladder or a
risk of the telescopic ladder slipping in spite of the Leitertec-
System©. This can cause personal injury, material damage and
harm to animals in the area of the telescopic ladder.
Using the telescopic ladder and Leitertec-System© presents an
heightened risk of crushing and shearing.
All work with and on the telescopic ladder and work with the
Leitertec-System© must be carried out in such a way that the
hazard is kept as low as possible.
The telescopic ladder and the Leitertec-System© may only be
used for light tasks at low height and for short periods.
Maintain a secure hold when climbing up, when working on
the telescopic ladder and when climbing down.
The national regulations must be observed without fail.
Handle the telescopic ladder and the Leitertec-System© with
care. In the event of damage of any kind, do not use the
telescopic ladder and the Leitertec-System©.
Children and adults with mental and physical disabilities/
impairments must not use the Leitertec-System.

When transporting ladders, ensure that they are secured/
attached in an appropriate manner to prevent damage.
Make sure that children have no access to the erected
telescopic ladder.
Never actuate the locking mechanism of the rungs when
working with the telescopic ladder.
Do not use the telescopic ladder if a locking mechanism is not
engaged correctly.
Do not move the telescopic ladder when a person is standing
on it.
Use the Leitertec-System© only in pairs.
The Leitertec-System© must be accessible from the ground in
order to be able to release the vacuum cups by hand if
necessary. Use at greater heights only with felt pads.
Damaged suction cups, connecting arms and linchpins must no
longer be used. Replace in pairs.
Always inspect the products for damage before using the
Leitertec-System© and telescopic ladder.

Pictograms:
Read the instructions in full.
Note the maximum load of 150 kg.
Adhere to the leaning angle of 65°-75°.
The telescopic ladder may only be accessed by one
person.
The telescopic ladder may only be used in the prescribed
direction.
Maintain a secure hold when climbing up, climbing down

Page 7 Version 1.0 eng
Do not lean over to the side.
Climbing over to the side is prohibited.
Wear suitable footwear.
When climbing up the telescopic ladder, pay attention to
the risk of collision, e.g. with pedestrians, vehicles or
doors. Secure doors (but not emergency exits) and
windows in the working area.
Telescopic ladders are not suitable for working on live
cables.
Never use the top three rungs. If the telescopic ladder is
not pulled out completely, view rungs pressed up close to
each other as one rung.
Certain health conditions, medication, alcohol or drug
abuse can impair safety during use of the telescopic
ladder.
In the event of damage of any kind, do not use the
telescopic ladder and the Leitertec-System©.

Objects that need to be transported when climbing up the
telescopic ladder should be easy to handle and be light of
weight.
Do not position ladders from above.
Erect standard ladders against flat, firm surfaces.
There should be no debris/contaminants on the ground.

Operation
Handling the ladder
-Always start with the bottom rung when pulling out
the rungs.
-Release the belt and pull out the first rung. Ensure
when doing this that the locking mechanism is
engaged on both sides.
-Repeat the procedure until the desired height is
reached.
-Once the height is reached, check again that all locking
mechanisms are engaged.
-Erect the telescopic ladder and ensure that the leaning
angle is 65°-75°, correct as necessary.
-The ground must be even and not slippery.
-The surface onto which the ladder is leant must be
even, dry and dust-free.
-The surface onto which the ladder is leant must be able
to withstand the pressure of leaning and building up
the vacuum of the ladder without any doubt.
-The telescopic ladder is ready to be climbed.
Handling the telescopic ladder with
Leitertec-System©
To mount the Leitertec-System© on the telescopic ladder, both
end caps must be removed from the ladder stiles. This may
prove difficult at first. Use a suitable tool if necessary to make
this easier.
