COMPATIBLE FIRMWARE
The Shimmer3 should be programmed with BtStream firmware for streaming to an Android
device.
The standard firmware programmed to Shimmers before shipping is BtStream.
To make sure your Shimmer is programmed with the latest BtStream firmware, refer to the
Getting Started with Shimmer3 - Streaming to PC guide, in particular:
•Configure the Shimmer Dock.
•Programming the Shimmer.
The Getting Started with Shimmer3 - Streaming to PC guide can be found on the Shimmer Getting
Started webpage*.

CONFIGURE SHIMMERCAPTURE
If asked to turn on Bluetooth, select Yes.
Follow the steps below to choose a file to which data will be written and enable logging (if
required).
Choose Menu →Connect.
If the Shimmer you wish to connect to has not been paired, select Scan for Devices.
The PIN is 1234.
When the PIN has been entered, click OK.
PAIRING THE SHIMMER OVER BLUETOOTH
Choose Menu →Connect.
Select the Shimmer you wish to connect to.
Some feedback will briefly be displayed during the connection process, as shown below.
CONNECT TO SHIMMERCAPTURE
Choose Menu →Enable Sensors.
Enable desired sensors.
Other configuration options (sensor ranges, sampling rate, etc.) can be found in Menu →
Shimmer Configuration.
CONFIGURE THE SHIMMER
Choose Menu →Signals to Graph.
Choose Signals To Graph (one type of sensor can be plotted at a time to avoid performance
degradation).
Graph history length can be configured via Menu →Graph Configuration.
