Some notes...

Restoring a connection

(You don’t need to go through “pairing” again unless you delete the pairing or

want to use a different headset.)

If you dropped your Bluetooth connection because:

a. you did a “stop” of the dongle (right click and stop), or

b. powered your headset off, or

c. dropped your connection by going out of range (you walked to far away from

your PC)

You can reconnect the headset by doing the following:

- make sure the dongle is powered on: right click BT icon in tray and

“start”

- make sure the headset is powered on: switch headset power on

- make sure you are streaming music

- from “Entire Bluetooth Neighborhood”, right click the 590Plantronics

icon, choose connect stereo headphones

- you should be streaming music now!

Tips

1. If the icon in “Entire Bluetooth Neighborhood” shows that you are connected

but there is no audio, momentary audio, or poor audio, make sure that you are

streaming audio, i.e., a media player is playing music. Right click the headset

icon and click “Disconnect Stereo Headphones” and

then right click again, but choose “Reconnect Stereo Headphones” to restore a

good audio connection.

2. To switch between the audio profile (A2DP for stereo music) and the headset

profile (HSP, e.g., for Skype w/ microphone) it is a 2 step process:

Pairing the Plantronics Pulsar 590 Headset with the

Anycom 200/250 USB Bluetooth dongle

Using the headset icon,

a. disconnect from the profile that is in use

b. reconnect with the desired profile

3. When connecting via the “headset profile”, you will sometimes receive a

visual and/or audio prompt (ringing) that you must answer to complete the

connection.

Problem not yet understood

2. Why is the audio connection unusable if the headset is connected but there is

not a music player running?
