OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Osaki Power Tools are committed to the Production of Quality Power Tools that are
designed for high performance and long service life. If safety and maintenance
procedures are observed they will last for many years.
To ensure the best possible use of the Osaki Engraver tool please follow these simple operating
instructions.
1.Before you start using the engraver you must firstly install the engraver tip.
To do this you must unscrew the grub screw which is located in the engraver
point holder. Place the engraver tip inside the tip holder and firmly tighten
the grub screw (see Fig. 1). It is important to ensure that the tip is held
firmly in place by the grub screw. In order to replace a worn out tip the same
procedure should be followed. Replacement engraver tips are available from
your local supplier; please quote order code OSA-280-3100A (pack of 5 tips).
2.
This engraver is powered by an AC motor, therefore you will need
to ensure that the current you are using is the same as shown on
the label of the engraver unit.
To use the engraver, turn it “ON” by moving
the on/off switch located at the end of the engraver housing (see Fig. 2).
Then hold the engraver at a slight angle (as if holding a pencil) and ensure
your arm is comfortable by resting it on a table. It is recommended that you
start by familiarising yourself with the tool by experimenting on a few bits of scrap material and
when you are ready to start work select the setting to produce an engraving mark to meet your
requirements. Use a light touch to guide the tip and for maximum results work slower than you
would normally write.
3.To control the stroke length and depth of engraving use the adjustment dial
on the side of the engraver housing (see Fig. 3), please note this dial cannot
be used as an OFF switch. The lowest setting is pointing to number one and
the highest is number five.
4.The engraver tip is carbide steel and under most conditions it will perform very satisfactorily
on hard materials such as glass, ceramics and steel. Do not engrave electronic media such
as DVDs, CDs etc. Engraving on these materials will damage the media.
