2. Overview
The SRC-101 (this device) is a dedicated controller for remote actuator drive. Micrometer-like micro-movements with
fine movement knobs and simple manual operation with JOG switches are possible. It is also
possible to control the
actuator by connecting to a commercially available PC
via a USB interface and sending commands from the PC.
3. Name and function of each part

This knob sets the operating speed of the actuator. Overloads can be detected at

(4) JOG switch
The actuator can be operated at a constant speed (jog operation).
(5) Fine movement knob
This knob allows you to operate the actuator like a micrometer.
(6) USB connector
It is used when controlling by serial communication.

(7) Motor connector
Connect a compatible remote actuator or MDC cable. The connector is lockable, so
do not pull the cable forcibly when inserting and removing.
(8) Power supply terminal
Connect the
dedicated
AC adapter. Do not use anything other than accessories.
(9) Power switch
Turn on the ON side to turn on the power. Turn off the power when it is turned
off.
Chapter 2 Operating the SRC-101 (Manual Operation)
4. SRC-101 Connection Procedure
4-1. Connect the SRC-101
and
the remote
actuator
to this device and the actuator to be used.
(1) Make sure that the power is not turned on to this device.
(2) Connect the actuator to the motor connector of this device.
4-2. Connect the SRC-101
to the AC adapter
Connect
the dedicated
AC adapter
to this unit.
(1) Make sure that the power is not turned on to this device.
(2) Connect the AC adapter to the power terminal of this unit.
4-3. Powering on
Turn the power switch on the ON side and turn on the power to this device.
The front panel RUN and STOP LEDs

5. Basic operation
This device can easily operate the actuator by manually operating the switches and knobs on the front panel. The basic
operation method is described below.

5-1. Operation of the shifting knob
The actuator operation speed can be switched during panel operation.

High-speed operation on the FAST side and low-speed operation on the SLOW side.
5-2. JOG Switch Operation
The actuator can be jogged manually.
• When the JOG switch
is tilted to the FWD side, the actuator operates in the direction of extension
(+direction).
• When the JOG switch is tilted to the REV side, the actuator operates in the direction of contraction
(-direction).
• The RUN LED lights up when the actuator is operating.

Release the JOG switch to stop.
5-3. Operation of fine movement knob (1)
By turning the fine movement knob, the fine movement of the actuator can be performed. Rotation of the knob The
actuator moves with each click, realizing intuitive operation like a micrometer.
・
Knob FWD Turn to the side - the actuator works in the + direction

• When the knob is turned to the REV side, the actuator moves in the - direction.
• The RUN LED lights up when the actuator is operating.
* The amount of movement (resolution) at the time of one click of rotation varies
depending on the set speed.
The higher the set speed, the greater the amount of travel.
5-4. Operation of fine movement knob (2)
You can jog the actuator by turning it while pressing the knob. The operating speed varies depending on the number of
clicks from the position where the knob is pressed. The more clicks, the faster it will work. Regarding this operation, the
speed set by the shifting knob will be invalid.

From the position where the knob is pressed FWD When turned to the side, the
actuator operates in the + direction

to the
REV side, the actuator
moves in the - direction.

By fixing the pressed state, the jog works at a speed according to the number of
clicks.
• The RUN LED lights up when the actuator is operating.

6. Alarm
This device is equipped with an alarm for safety. Automatically stops actuator operation when an alarm is detected

6-1. Overload detection
When jogging at a specified speed or higher, this device detects overload at the end of the stroke and automatically
stops operation. When an overload is detected, the front panel STOP LED lights up. Overload detectable speed setting
ranges from 16~48
(Limited to the silver mark scale of the shifting knob). If you operate in the opposite direction from the detected
direction, the alarm will be canceled.
However, please note that the end of the stroke may not be detected depending on the operation by the fine
movement knob or M command, low-speed operation, wiring conditions, etc. If the stroke end is reached, the actuator
is often mechanically locked and may not be able to get out. When exiting the stroke end, operate at high speed.
Also, if an overload is detected in the middle of the stroke, the torque of the motor is insufficient. Please use at a speed
that does not stop by increasing the speed.
6-2. Long-running alarm
In order to prevent the motor from generating heat due to continuous operation for a long time, the actuator stops
operating after a specified period of time. When a long-running alarm is detected, the front panel STOP LED blinks once
per second. Turn the power off, wait for a while, and then turn it back on.

6-3. Internal circuit overload detection
When this device detects an abnormality in the internal circuit, it automatically stops the operation of the actuator.
When an alarm is detected, the front panel STOP LED blinks twice per second. Turn off the power, stop using and check
the load status.

7. SRC-101 Connection Procedure

This device uses FTDI's FT232
for
USB-to-serial conversion. To control this device by a computer, you must first install
the driver on the PC side.
The following example
describes the installation procedure
of
Driver Ver.2.08.08
for
Windows 32bit.

Connect the USB A (male) end of the USB cable to the USB port on your computer .
(5) Connect the AC adapter to the power terminal of this unit.
(6) Turn on the power.
(7) Follow the instructions in the Found New Hardware Wizard to start the driver installation.
First, select Install from a list or a specific location.
(8) Specify the unzipped folder.
(9) Install USB Serial Converter
