A. Description of function
The vehicle is equipped wi h a sys em ha facili a es reverse parking manoeu-
vres by de ec ing obs acles ha could damage he vehicle. When reverse gear is
engaged, an audible beep signals ha he Lexus Parking Aid is ac ive. The de ec -
ed obs acle will be indica ed by an in ermi en beep, increasing in frequency
un il i becomes a con inuous one as he vehicle moves closer o he obs acle.

well o allow emporarily cancella ion of he Lexus Parking Aid o avoid
false de ec ion of your railer during reversing.
B. Operating tips
1. General reco endations
Always remember ha while his device is a valid aid when reversing, i is he
driver who is ul ima ely responsible for assessing nearby obs acles. Always drive
wi h due care and cau ion in order o preven damage o persons or o proper y.
If you reverse a high speed he sensors will no be able o de ec obs acles in
ime.
2. Te porary alfunction
The Lexus Parking Aid may no opera e correc ly in he following si ua ions:
– where here is foreign ma er on he sensor (ice, snow, mud,...)
– if you are close o a radio communica ions an enna
– if you are approaching a source of ul rasonic waves (horn, mo orcycle
engine,...)
– if he road is bumpy
– if he sensor is covered
– if he vehicle is lis ing due o unequal load dis ribu ion
– in heavy rain or if wa er splashes on o he sensor
– if you ge oo close o an obs acle
– if he sensor is frozen.
3. Reduced sensing range
The sensing range may decrease in he following si ua ions:
– if he vehicle is parked for a long ime in ho sun or in cold wea her
– in case of objec s wi h low reflec ive proper ies
– if he de ec ion sensor is clogged wi h mud, snow or ice.

4. No detection
Owing o heir low reflec ive proper ies, he sensors may no be able o de ec
he following objec s:
– very low, hin or poin ed objec s (wires, ropes, wire fences, e c.)
– objec s wi h high absorp ion proper ies (snow, co on, e c.)
– sharp angled objec s.
The sys em may no be able o de ec he lower par of cer ain designs of
bumper.
C. Operation procedure
1. S ar he engine.
Caution
Make sure he engine is running in order
o preven he ba ery from discharging.
2. Engage he shif lever o "R" (reverse) o
ac iva e he Lexus Parking Aid.
3. The sys em emi s a shor beep o confirm
ha i is working correc ly.
4. The sys em is now ready o de ec obs a-
cles.

In case of using a railer, he cancella ion swi ch
has o be urned “off” o avoid false de ec ion
of he railer.
