This guide provides quick start instructions for an experienced installer
to set up and operate the SW RGBHV and SW RGBHV A
switchers.
Installation
Step 1 — Mounting
Turn off or disconnect all equipment power sources
and mount the switcher as required.
Step 2 — Inputs
• Connectupto2,4or6RGBHV,RGBS,
RGsB,orRsGsBsvideoorcomponent
video inputs to the Input connectors.
• Audio models —Connectupto2,
4or6stereoormonoaudioinputs
to the 5-pin
captive screw
connectors.
Step 3 — Outputs
• ConnectanRGBHV,RGBS,RGsB,orRsGsBsvideoorcomponentvideodisplayor
other device to the Output connectors. Make connections as shown for step 3.
• Audio models —Connectabalancedorunbalancedstereoaudioormonoaudio
device to the 5-pin captive screw connector.
CConnect the sleeves to ground (Gnd). Connecting the sleeve to a negative (-) terminal
will damage the audio output circuits.
Step 4 — Remote port
Connectahostdevice,suchasacomputerortouch
panelcontrolviaRS-232,OR connect a remote contact
closure device to the switcher
via the 9-pin D connector for
remote control of the switcher.
To command a switch under
contactclosurecontrol,
momentarilyshortaninput’s
pin on the remote connector to
ground(theswitchermustbein
normal [manual] mode).

Step 5 — Power
PlugastandardIECpowercordbetweentheswitcher’spowerconnectoranda100VACto
240VAC,50or60Hzpowersource.
Operation
Switch mode
SettherearpanelswitchtoAutoforautoswitchmode(theswitcherautomatically
switchestothehighest-numberedinputwithasyncsignalpresent)orNormalfor
manual switch mode. The front panel Auto Switch Active LED lights when the
switcher is in autoswitch mode.
Switch inputs in normal switch mode
Pressandreleasethedesiredinputbutton.
Adjust audio level (audio models)
You can set the input level of audio gain or attenuation via the front panel or the Remote port
tobecompatiblewithawiderangeoflinelevelsources.Individualinputaudiolevelscanbe
adjustedsothatthereisnonoticeablevolumedifferenceamongsources.Thisfunctionalso
eliminatestheneedforseparatepreampsorattenuators,whenusedwithprofessional(higher
line level) and consumer (lower line level) audio equipment.
Adjust the audio from the front panel as follows:
1. Pressandreleasethedesiredinputbutton.
2. PressandholdtheAudioConf./SavebuttonuntiltheAudioConf./
SaveLEDbeginstoblink.Theapproximatelevelisindicatedbythe
inputLEDsandthepolaritybythe±dBLEDs.
NThe input LEDs display the approximate level of attenuation.
The +dB LED indicates the level is gain (positive).
The - dB LED indicates the level is attenuation (negative).

3. Press and release the >and <buttonstoincreaseanddecreasetheaudiolevelby1dB
perpushofthebutton,orpressandholdthebuttonstoincreaseordecreasethelevel
by3dBpersecond.
4. PressandreleasetheAudioConf./Savebuttontoexit.TheAudio
Conf./SaveLEDgoesout.
