1. Overview
Thank you for purchasing the ennoLogic eH710T moisture
meter. This meter is a professional moisture meter that
measures the water content of wood and building materials.
It also measures air temperature. Please read the
instructions in this manual carefully before using the
moisture meter.
1.1 Important Safety Considerations – Please Read
Please read these safety instructions and this
user manual before usin this instrument for
the first time!
1. Only use the instrument for its intended purpose and
within the parameters listed in the specifications section.
2. When using the meter, follow the operating instructions

1.4 Battery Installation or Replacement
Open the battery cover on the back of the instrument and

indicators (alkaline batteries are recommended). Please
replace the batteries when the low battery symbol
appears.
1.5 How to Use Your Moisture Meter
Power On/Off
To turn the moisture meter on press the power button
briefly, press it again to turn it off. The unit shuts off
automatically after 10 minutes without use.
Backlight
To turn on the backlight on press the backlight button
briefly (do not hold it down). Press it again to turn it off.
Taking a Measurement
1. Turn the meter on by pressing the power button. The
meter is now in measuring mode. You will notice that the
display shows “Lo” as the pins of the meter are not yet in
contact with a material. To increase readability of the

4
display, you may want to turn on the backlight by pressing
the backlight button.
2. Choose your material setting with the arrow button. Press
this button briefly multiple times to move through settings
1-7. The material number will be displayed along with one
of two material symbols: (wood) or (building
material). Each material setting number represents a range
of materials with similar characteristics with respect to
moisture measurement. Please refer to the material table in
the Specifications section to select the correct material
setting. Choose material setting “1” if the material is
unknown.
3. Remove the protective cap. Hold the meter so that your
fingers or any other interference source do not come into
contact with the pins. Gently press the two pins against the
material you want to measure.
You only need to make good electrical contact with the
surface of the material. It is not necessary to push the pins
deep into the material to take an accurate measurement.
However, pushing the pins into a softer or porous material
such as firewood, carpet or drywall will give you a reading
more representative of the internal moisture content rather
than just surface moisture. When measuring firewood take

5
readings from internal cut surfaces rather than outer bark.
Note: you do not need to press any buttons to take a
reading. Simply hold the pins in contact with the material
and wait a few seconds for the moisture reading to change
from “Lo” to a numeric value. If the material you are
measuring has a very high moisture content the display will
first read “HI” before settling on a value. If it remains on
“HI” then the moisture content of your material is higher
than the measuring range for the selected material. For
example, when measuring drywall (material setting 3)
moisture content above 22.1% will read “HI”. If the material
you are measuring has a moisture content lower than the
measuring range for the selected material, the display will
remain on “Lo” and not change to a value. For example,
when measuring drywall (material setting 3) moisture
content below 0.8% will read “Lo”.
To ensure accurate measurements, please take multiple
readings at different locations across the material’s surface.
Hold and Max / Min Value Display
When taking a measurement in hard to access areas you
may want to press the Mode button once to freeze the
currently displayed value. The symbol “HOLD” will be
displayed in the top left corner along with the reading. Now

6
you can remove the meter from the material without losing
the reading.
Pressing the Mode button again will display the maximum
moisture and temperature values since powering the unit
on. Press it once more to display the minimum values.
Temperature Unit Selection and Self Check
To change the air temperature measurement unit to °F or °C,
press and hold the power button for 3 or more seconds.
When you let go the temperature unit symbol will be
flashing. Press the arrow button to choose Celsius or
Fahrenheit, then press the Mode button to confirm your
selection. Next you will see three dashes “---” on the display
for a few seconds, followed by “PAS”. Press the Mode
button again to leave this function and return to normal
measuring mode.
Follow these same steps every time you change the batteries
to perform a self-check. You don’t need to change the
temperature unit, simply confirm the current unit by
pressing the Mode button and then wait to see the three
dashes followed by the “PAS” symbol to know the unit is
operating correctly. If the unit displays “NO” instead of
“PAS” there is a problem with the unit and you’ll need to
contact [email protected]m.
