inside the ir le, meaning that you should not disassemble.

A bla k ir le ( ) with a pi ture inside alerts you to something you MUST

do. This example shows that you MUST unplug the power ord.

Stri t observan e of these warning and aution indi ations are a MUST for preventing

a idents whi h ould result in bodily injury and substantial property damage. Make

Handling the battery cartridge

• Never disassemble or heat the battery

artridge, nor put it into fire or water;

doing so ould ause battery-rupture or

leakage of battery fluid, resulting in a

fire or bodily injury.

• Do not arry or store the battery ar-

tridge together with metalli ball-point

pens, ne kla es, oins, hairpins, et .

Doing so ould short- ir uit the termi-

nal pins, ausing the batteries to rup-

ture or the battery fluid to leak, result-

ing in a fire or bodily injury.

• Avoid dropping the battery artridge or letting it undergo any sho k

or impa t.

Doing so ould ause the batteries to break, generate heat, rupture or

burn.

• Never harge the lithium-ion battery artridge where any inflamma-

ble gases may be emitted; doing so ould ause fire.

Handling the BHT

Undedi ated

• Only use the dedi ated harger (CU-

7000, C-700, or C-750) for harging the

battery artridge.

Using a different type of harger ould

ause battery-rupture or leakage of bat-

tery fluid and result in a fire, bodily in-

jury, or serious damage to property.

Charge only

with the

dedi ated

devi e.

ARNING

Handling the CU

• If smoke, abnormal odors or noises ome from the CU, immediately

unplug the AC adapter from the wall so ket and onta t your nearest

Failure to do so ould ause fire or ele tri al sho k.

• Never use the CU for harging anything other than the spe ified

battery artridges.

Doing so ould ause heat, battery-rupture, or fire.

• Never bring any metals into onta t with the output terminals.

Doing so ould produ e a large urrent through the CU, resulting in

heat or fire, as well as damage to the CU.

• Use the dedi ated AC adapter only. Failure to do so ould result in a

fire.

• Never use the CU on the line voltage other than the spe ified level.

Doing so ould ause the CU to break or burn.

• If the power ord of the AC adapter is damaged (e.g., exposed or

broken lead wires), stop using it and onta t your nearest dealer.

Failure to do so ould result in a fire or ele tri al sho k.

Moisture or dust will get into the BHT,

resulting in malfun tion, fire or ele tri-

al sho k.

• Never disassemble or modify the BHT; doing so ould result in an

a ident su h as break or fire.

fluid, resulting in bodily injury, fire, or property damage.

• For those ma hines using the dry battery artridge, do not use any-

thing other than the spe ified type of batteries, nor use new and old

batteries together.

Doing so ould ause battery-rupture or leakage of battery fluid,

resulting in bodily injury, fire, or property damage.

• Do not use batteries or power sour es other than the spe ified ones;

doing so ould generate heat or ause malfun tion.

• In environments where stati ele tri ity an build into signifi ant

harges (e.g., if you wipe off the resin plate with a dry loth), do not

operate the BHT. Doing so will result in malfun tion or ma hine

failure.

• When onne ting or dis onne ting the dire t- onne t interfa e able

to/from the BHT, do not plug or unplug it at an angle and do not pull

the able strongly. Doing so will result in a ma hine failure.

• If the BHT has been stored in a hot (50˚C to 60˚C, 122˚F to 140˚F) and
