ENGLISH
Description
The Termö has been developed using the latest
infrared technology allowing temperature to be
taken at a distance of about 1 to 2 inches
(3 to 5 cm) away from the body
(forehead, ears and armpit). It also allows
precise, instantaneous, non-contact and safe
temperature measurement of the various
surfaces such as bottle milk, food, bath water,
etc. A tool that is both practical and essential
in your care kit for the whole family.
The non-contact infrared thermometer
is not recommended for use
with children under 2 years old.

Description of components
Important information
Please note that the temperature
of the human body varies throughout the day.
It can also be inuenced by numerous external
factors: age, sex, type and thickness of skin.
The temperature should be taken
in a neutral environment.
The person must not have been undertaken
vigorous physical activity prior to taking his/
her temperature and the room temperature
must be moderate. Also note that in sitting,
temperature is lower by about 0.5 °F to 0.7 °F
(0.3 °C to 0.4 °C) than when standing.
Before use
1. Installing the batteries
• Install batteries in the battery
compartment by pushing on the battery
compartment door and sliding it towards

the direction indicated by the arrow.
Insert 2 AA batteries (included) in
the compartment making sure to respect
the polarity and put back the door
by sliding it back in place.
• Follow this step whenever the LCD screen
displays the ashing low battery symbol
which means batteries need to
be replaced.
2. In order to obtain reliable and stable
results:
• For the rst use or each time there
is a signicant change in the ambient
temperature, please wait from 10 to 15
minutes for the Termö to acclimate
to the new environment.
• Allow 3 to 5 seconds interval between
two measurements.
• Push back hair from the forehead
and wipe away any perspiration.
• Avoid any drafts (e.g. from air
conditioning, etc.).
The surface temperature differs
from the internal body temperature.
To obtain the internal temperature,
always use the BODY mode.
Please make sure to select
SURFACE TEMP mode
for an external area reading.
Getting started with the Termö
Your Termö is designed to let you measure
different types of temperature by letting you
choose the proper mode beforehand.

second, after that, the screen panel is in
full display for one second and then it goes
on Standby showing your selected options.
2. Press the °C/°F Button to select the desired
temperature unit.
3. Press the MODE Button to change the type
of temperature you want to measure.
• SURFACE TEMP mode: aim at any surface
(liquid or solid);
• BODY mode: aim at any part
of the body, usually forehead, ears
and armpit (never aim at the eyes!);
• ROOM mode: just press on the SCAN
button and the room temperature will
be displayed.
• Aim the lens towards the chosen surface
or body part to read at a distance
of 1 to 2 inches (3 to 5 cm) and press
the ON/SCAN button to take a reading
within 1 second.
4. In order to save the batteries, the Termö will
shut off automatically after 30 seconds.
5. Press the MEM Button to recall saved
measured value. The Termö can store up
to 32 measurements.
Instructions for recalibration of the Termö
When there is a difference between Termö
and a calibrated mercury thermometer, you
can use the recalibration function to adjust

the Termö to make it the same as the calibrated
mercury thermometer. To do so, please follow
these simple steps.
1. While the device is on, press the MODE
and °C/ °F buttons simultaneously
for 3 seconds.
2. The screen will then display: F-4.
3. Press the MODE button to increase
by 0.1 °F (0.1 °C),
4. Press the °C/ °F button to reduce 0.1 °F
(0.1 °C).
5. Press the MEM button to save the setting.
Maintenance
• The protective glass over the lens is the most
important and fragile part of the Termö,
please take great care of it. Clean the glass
with a cotton ball, wet with 95% alcohol
when needed.
• Only use AA batteries.
• Remove the batteries when thermometer
is not used for an extended period of time.
WARNINGS
• Follow the maintenance advice found
in this instruction manual to insure reliable
stable results.
• The Termö may be used for professional
purposes or for personal use.
• The Termö must be used for the purposes
described in this instruction manual,
in an ambient temperature ranging
from 50 °F (10 °C) to 104 °F (40 °C).
• The Termö must always be kept in a clean,
dry area.
• Do not expose the Termö to electric shocks
or to extreme temperatures over 131 °F
(55 °C) or under-4 °F (-20 °C).
• Do not use the Termö when relative
humidity is higher than 85%.

• Do not touch the glass of the infrared lens
with your ngers or point directly in the eyes.
• Do not expose the Termö to sunlight
or water.
• Never drop the Termö, any impact may
damage the product.
• If a problem occurs with your Termö,
contact your retailer. Do not attempt
to repair it yourself.
• The device should not be used shortly after
exercise, bathing or coming indoors.
• The device should not be used to manage
important health concerns.
• Parents should not rely only on temperature
readings; if they have concerns they should
seek medical advice.
Troubleshooting
If you have problems while using your Termö,
please refer to this guide to help resolve
the problem. If the problem persists, please
contact our customer service
1. The screen displays temperature higher
than 109.2 °F (42.9 °C).
The temperature is in Fahrenheit. Change
the measurement to Celsius by pressing
the °C/ °F button.
2. The screen displays temperature lower
than 89.6 °F (32 °C)
If the Termö is in SURFACE TEMP mode,
the temperature displayed is showing
the external temperature of your
body, rather than the internal. To take
the internal temperature, press the MODE
button and set to the reading BODY mode.
3. The screen displays the message HI
When using the Termö, the message HI can
show on the screen. In this case,
the temperature is above the measurement
range selected, for example above 109.2 °F
(42.9 °C) in BODY mode.

4. The screen displays the message LO
When using the Termö, the message LO can
show on the screen. In this case,
the temperature analyzed is under
the measuring range selected, for example
less than 89.6 °F (32 °C) in BODY mode.
This message can also be displayed
for various reasons. Please nd below a list
of the possible issues:

MEASURING RANGE
• In BODY mode: 89.6 °F to 109.2 °F
(32 °C to 42.9 °C), there are three
color-identiers for temperatures:
- GREEN color backlit: ≤ 99.1 °F (37.3 °C),
means normal temperature;
- ORANGE color backlit: 99.3 °F to 100.2 °F
(37.4 °C to 37.9 °C), means low fever;
- RED color backlit: ≥100.4 °F (38.0 °C),
means high fever.
