Precautions for use
NOTICE
Follow the precautions below to avoid malfunction and
damage to this product and to prevent the loss of data.
Installation
•Ifyouhearnoise,changethe product location or
orientation, or the surrounding environment. Depending
on the environment in which you use the product, a
phone, radio or TV may generate noise.
• Do not install this product in a place subject to:
- Direct sunlight
- Extremely high or low temperatures
- Excessive dust
Otherwise, malfunction, deformation or disfiguration may
be caused.
• Do not install this product in a place where condensation
can form due to rapid, drastic changes in ambient
temperature. Using the product while condensation is
present may cause malfunction. If there is a reason to
believe that condensation might have occurred on or in
this product, leave it for several hours without turning on
the power. You can start using the product when the
condensation has completely dried.
• Do not install this product in a place subject to strong
electro-magnetic waves. Otherwise, malfunction may be
caused.
• Do not install telecommunication cables near the power
cord. Otherwise, high voltage maybe induced, resulting in
malfunction.
• Do not install using a wall mount kit or rack mount kit
other than the included items.
Connections
• Do not connect this product to a public Wi-Fi and/or
Internet service directly. Only connect this product to the
Internet through a router with strong password
protections. Consult your router manufacturer for
information on optimum security practices.
• Do not connect any noise generating devices to the same
power supply line as this product. Doing so may cause
damage or malfunctions.
• If you plan to use this product on a 1000BASE-T /
2.5GBASE-T / 5GBASE-T network, use LAN cables of
Enhanced Category 5 (CAT5e) or higher. If you plan to use
this product on a 10GBASE-T network, use cables of
Category 6 (CAT6) or higher. However, if you plan to use
this product on a 2.5GBASE-T / 5GBASET / 10GBASE-T
network, the resulting maximum transmission distance
may be shorter than the standard value due to the
influence of adjacent cables and external noise.

• When connecting using a Direct Attach cable or an STP
cable, make sure that the grounding for the devices is at
the same potential.
Handling
• Do not place any vinyl, plastic or rubber products on this
product.
Otherwise, the panel may be discolored or deteriorate.
• Before you touch this product, remove static electricity
from your body or clothing.
Otherwise, static electricity may lead to malfunction of
the product.
• Do not touch the inside of the terminal with your finger or
a metal object.
Doing so may result in malfunction or poor contact.
• Be sure to read the user guide for this product on the
website, and then only connectthe specified SFP modules
(class 1 laser; sold separately) or Direct Attach cables (sold
separately) to the SFP+ port. Operation cannot be
guaranteed if any SFP module or Direct Attach cable other
than those specified is connected.
• Attach the dust cover to SFP+ ports that are not in use.
Failing to do so could allow foreign objects to enter,
causing malfunctions. Keep the dust cover in a safe place
so that it is not lost.
• If it is difficult to pull out the Direct Attach cable (sold
separately), refer to the User Guide (available from the
website) to disconnect it. Forcibly pulling out the cable
may damage this product or the Direct Attach cable.
Maintenance
• Use a dry, soft cloth to clean this product. Do not use
benzine, thinner, detergent or chemical rag to clean the
surface of the product. Otherwise, the surface may be
discolored or deteriorate.
Disposal or transfer
• Before you transfer ownership or dispose of this product,
initialize the product settings to default. If you transfer
ownership or dispose of this product without initializing
the settings, your personal data may be stolen by a third
party.

1POWER indicator
Lights when power is provided to the unit.
2mini-USB CONSOLE port
This is a mini-USB port for making settings. Use a USB cable to connect it to the USB port
of a computer.
3RJ-45 CONSOLE port
This is an RJ-45 port for making settings. Use an RJ-45/DB-9 console cable to connect it
to the RS-232C connector (COM port) of the computer.
4microSD indicator
Indicates the connection and usage status of the microSD card.
5microSD slot
A microSD card can be inserted in this slot.
6LAN ports
These ports support 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T, 2.5GBASE-T, 5GBASE-T, and
10GBASE-T.
7SFP+ ports
These ports support 1000BASE-SX, 1000BASE-LX, 10GBASE-SR, and 10GBASE-LR.
Install the SFP module (sold separately) and direct attach cable (sold separately).
8Stack ID indicator
This is a 7-segment display that indicates the stack ID when stack connection is used.
