InstallaonoftheSCS Connect controller other than in
accordancewiththe“Descripon&Install”seconofthis
manual will invalidate the warranty. The SCS™ Connect must
onlybeinstalledandconguredbytrainedandauthorizedsta.
Washdown;
Thefrontoftheunitmaybeexposedtowaterjets.Warning!
Therearoftheunitmustnotbeexposedtohighpressure
waterjetsortemporarysubmersion,asthiswillinvalidate
thewarranty,andmaydamageelectroniccircuitsleadingto
prematurefailureorunsafeoperaon.Mounngoftheunit
mustbeinaccordancewithorientaonasspeciedinthe

Chemicals;
The SCS Connectcontroller’shousingismadeofpolycarbonate,
andshouldnotbeexposedtochemicalswhichaackthis
material,asthiswillinvalidatethewarrantyandmaydamage
thehousing,leadingtounsafeoperaon.Warning! Risk of

Temperature;
The SCS Connectcontrollermustonlybesubjectedto
temperaturesasspeciedinthe“TechnicalSpecicaons”
seconofthismanual.Exceedingtheseranges,eitherin
operaon,installaon,transportaon,orstorage,willinvalidate
thewarranty,andmaydamageelectroniccircuitsandhousing
components,leadingtoprematurefailure.
Vibraonandimpact;
TheunitMUSTbeinstalledinsuchawayastobeprotected
fromimpactinoperaon.Donothitordroptheunit.
Exposuretoimpacts,eitherinoperaon,installaon,
transportaon,orstorage,maydamageelectroniccircuits
andhousingcomponents,leadingtoprematurefailure,and
may cause the SCS Connect controller to become unsafe. Any
impactwhichcausesvisualdamagetothecontrollercasingwill
invalidate the warantee.
Noserviceableparts;
TherearenoserviceablepartsinsidetheSCS Connect
controller.Donotopenthehousing,exceptfortherearcover,
asdescribedinthe“DescriponandInstallaon”seconof
thismanual.Openingoftheelectronicshousing,alterang
ormodifyingtheSCS Connect controller will invalidate the
warrantyandcancauseriskofelectrocuon.

Voltages;
The SCS Connect controller must only be connected to
powersupplieswhichcomplywiththeacceptablevoltage
rangesspeciedinthe“TechnicalSpecicaon”seconof
thismanual.Connecontosupplyvoltagesoutsideofthese
rangescandamageelectricalcircuits,leadingtopremature
failure, and may cause the SCS Connect controller to
become unsafe. All SCS Connectcontroller’sshipfromthe
factorywithvoltagelimitsenabled.Disablingthisprotecon
invalidatesanywarrantyduetoincorrectvoltages.
MaximumvoltagesareloggedbytheSCS Connect controller.
Voltageuctuaonsandsurges;
SCS Connectcontrollerhassurgeproteconasspecied
inthe“TechnicalSpecicaon”seconofthismanual.
Exposuretosurgevoltagesoutsidetheselimits,or
excessivelyrepeatedsurgeswithintheselimits,maycause
damagetoelectricalcircuits,leadingtoprematurefailure.
Failureduetoexcessivesurgevoltagesisnotcoveredby
warranty.
Currents;
SCS Connectcontrolleroutputsshouldnotbeconnectedto
shortcircuitsortoloadswhichexceedthecurrentsspecied
inthe“TechnicalSpecicaon”seconofthismanual.
Doingsomaycausethecontrollertofailprematurelyor
immediately,andpossiblytodamagetheconnectedload.
Connecontoincorrectloadsvoidsthewarranty.
Phaseandrelayterminalsmaycarrycurrentshighenough
tooverheatcableterminaons,ifthesearenotcorrectly
speciedandcrimped.Thismaycauseriskofelectrocuon
orre.Caremustbetakentoensurethatcablesand
terminaonsaresafelyterminated.
Segregaonofpowerandsignalcabling;
Correctsegregaonofpowerandsignalcablingmustbe
followed.Donotrunpowerandsignalcablestogetherin
thesameconduit.Induconfrompowercablesmaycorrupt
datasignals,leadingtoincorrectoperaon.
Consequenalfailures;
SCS Connectcontrollerincludesfeaturestoprotectboth
itselfandconnectedcomponentsintheeventofafailure.
Howeverfailureofconnectedcomponentsmaycause
damagetotheSCS Connect controller, and failure of the
SCS Connectcontrollermaycausedamagetoconnected
components.Cricalorvulnerablecomponentsshould
beprotectedindependentlyagainstfailure.SCSConnect
controllerisnotwarrantedagainstdamagecausedbyorto
othercomponents.
