Introduction
The RFS200 is designed to record the time fluid passes through the unit regardless of pressure. The device starts counting at >10 L/min and there
is a permanent LCD display of cumulative hours. It will continue to count time until the flow falls below 10 L/min. It is built on our robust Reverse
Flow Indicator technology and will give many years of maintenance free service.
Before first operating the equipment read the whole of these instructions. Safety may be impaired if they are not followed.

Basic operation
The flow metering is achieved with a tapered piston in a sharp-edged orifice. With as little as 10 L/min the piston moves to the point at which the
switch is activated, and the hours counter starts recording. Greater flow moves the piston further through the orifice and it will continue counting.
When flow reduces below 10 L/min the switch is deactivated and the counter stops. This arrangement allows the possibility for the switch point
to be set higher, but this is a factory only adjustment.
The unit will allow reverse flow to pass with ease, but the counter module will not register any time.
The hours counter permanently displays cumulative time and cannot be reset.

* The count trigger point is set using ISO32 oil at 50°C (21cSt).
Higher viscosities will decrease the switching flow and lower
viscosities will increase the switching flow.

Installation guidance
The unit should be mounted horizontally, and while any other position will work the switch flow may change. There are bulkhead mounting
holes available on the counter box but these should not be used to support pipe-work connected to the ports. Any pipes that can move during
normal operation should be locally clamped to prevent excess stress on the ports.
The unit will allow reverse flow to pass without excessive pressure drop, but it will not trigger the counter.
The design is tolerant of some fluid contamination, but it should be kept below NAS 8 or ISO 19/17/14. A maximum 40micron filter should be
installed in the circuit.
Rapidly changing or pulsating flows should be avoided.

Maintenance and Service
The unit should give years of trouble-free service and does not require annual calibration.
In the unlikely event of a malfunction please contact Webtec for service and support.
