No liability is accepted if these instructions are not followed or if damage results through
improper use. Any attempt to alter the appliance or to not follow instructions may result in harm
and will also void any warranty.
Safety instructions:
This appliance should be stored out of the reach of children, and should not be used by children without
adult supervision, or by persons with a lack of experience or knowledge. Children aged 8 and above,
and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, can use this appliance provided they
are instructed in the use of this appliance in a safe way, understand the hazards involved, and are
supervised at all times.
Never leave the appliance unattended while in use; always turn off and unplug if you are leaving the
work surface. Ensure it is turned off and unplugged during cleaning or after use, and store it away
safely in a clean, dry place with all the accessories.
Do not allow children to play with any part of this appliance; keep the appliance and all the packaging
e.g. plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc. out of their reach as there is a danger of suffocation. Cleaning
and user maintenance should not be done by children without supervision of a capable adult.
Only suitable for indoor use in a clear, safe space; keep away from liquids, flames, heat sources and
flammable material to avoid risk of damage or electric shock.
Make sure your electricity supply matches the voltage shown on the appliance before plugging in. To
avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another high voltage appliance on the same circuit.
To avoid electric shock, do not let the appliance, cord or plug get wet, and never immerse in water or
any other liquid. If the appliance is damp, dry thoroughly before use. Never touch with wet hands.
This appliance is intended for domestic household use only, and indoors only – it is not suitable for
commercial use or for use outdoors. It must only be used for its intended purpose.
Ensure the power cord is kept away from hot surfaces and parts of the appliance; check the cord and
appliance before each use to ensure it is unobstructed and in full working order. Never yank the cord to
disconnect from the socket; always grasp the plug firmly and pull to disconnect.
Do not use the appliance if the power cord, plug or any part of the appliance shows signs of damage, or
if the appliance is dropped or working incorrectly. Never try to repair the appliance yourself as this may
cause harm and could also void your warranty. Call our Customer Services on the details contained in
this manual and we will endeavour to help as best we can. If the power cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Never connect this appliance to an external timer switch or separate remote-control system, as this may
result in fire or damage. Only use manufacturer-approved accessories and spare parts. If an extension
cord is necessary, a 10 amp cord should be used, as cords rated less may overheat. Ensure the
extension cord is arranged so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over.
The heating element has been slightly greased and as a result the raclette may smoke slightly when
switched on for the first time. After a short while, this will cease – switch the raclette on for 10 minutes
without any ingredients before the first use to remove any smoke or smell from this process.
