MOISTURE METER


USER GUIDE
Before you enjoy the benets of your product please take
a few moments to read our advice and instructions below.
Thank you for buying a Valiant product, our Moisture
Meter is designed as a reliable indicator to determine that
your wood fuel is ready for burning safely.
The Moisture Meter can be used for measuring the
moisture content of any structural wood and timber,
including, but not restricted to: Oak, Yew, Cedar, Maple,
Birch, Ash, Beech, Hornbeam, Holly, Cherry and Apple etc.
By changing the Mode setting it can also be used to
check for rising damp in plaster in stone and brickwork
buildings.
The moisture meter can also be used to measure room
temperature.

SELECTING THE FUNCTIONS
1. Press the power button for 1 second to turn on. The
LCD screen shows the last used feature.
2. To measure moisture in wood, press MODE button
to indicate, or wood, for plastered walls in
buildings or Room Temperature.
3. To measure temperature, press MODE button, until the
temperature is displayed, switch between F and C by
pressing button.
USING YOUR METER
1. Select the required function.
2. If measuring moisture, remove the protective cover,
take care-the probes are sharp and are not replaceable.
Be careful not to damage the tips.
3. Push the probes 1mm into the wood, or till it makes
rm contact in building materials. The display will read
Lo if not detecting moisture.
READING MEASUREMENT IN FIREWOOD
4. Between 6-15% the display will glow GREEN – The
wood is good and perfect for burning brightly, safely
with optimum heat.
5. Between 15-20% the display will glow AMBER - The
wood is OK to burn and should give safe and OK
performance.
6. Above 20% the display will glow RED – The wood
should be allowed to dry further before use as soot, tar
and dirty glass may result causing long term damage
to ue liner or in worst cases contribute to a chimney
re.

READING MEASUREMENT OF PLASTERWORK
7. Between 0-0.3% display will glow GREEN, 0.4% -1.0%
display will glow AMBER, above 1.1% backlight will
glow Red.
8. Replace the caps over the probes after use for safety.
PROBLEM SOLVING
• If the goods have arrived in a damaged condition please
contact your supplier.
• In the unlikely event that parts are missing or the
product is not working as described, please contact
us at the address below so that we may deal with your
problem swiftly and minimise delays.
WARRANTY
• Your Valiant product is guaranteed for materials and
workmanship for 12 months.
• This limited warranty does not cover normal wear and
tear or damage caused by accident or misuse.
• Use of this product is entirely at the consumer’s risk.
• This does not affect your statutory rights.
RETURNS
• Please retain your proof of purchase. You will need
to provide this receipt and the batch number in any
correspondence.
• If you experience a problem with your Valiant product,
please contact us by telephone or email in the rst
instance (contact details are listed below).
• Returned products will only be processed with prior

verbal or written agreement with Valiant Stoves Ltd.
• Valiant will not accept postage or other costs
associated with returned or faulty goods.
• If goods are found to have been misused any repair
costs will be passed to the customer if any repair or
replacement is required.
DISPOSAL
When the battery needs replacing, the battery symbol
next to the wood icon will show.
Always dispose of spent batteries and electrical and
electronic products responsibly at the local recycle
centre.
• All packaging materials and cardboard are recyclable.
The product should be treated as an electrical good and
will be accepted at your recycle centre which will reduce
our impact on the environment and minimise landll.
We reserve the right to update and amend the product
design and the manual, which are subject to change
without further notication.

Merci d’avoir acheté ce produit Valiant. Cet humidimètre
a été conçu pour vous servir d’indicateur able, grâce
auquel vous pourrez décider si votre bois de chauffage
est prêt à brûler sans risque.
L’humidimètre peut servir à mesurer la teneur en humidité
de n’importe quel bois de structure et bois d’œuvre, dont
entre autres mais pas exclusivement : le chêne, l’if, le
cèdre, l’érable, le bouleau, le frêne, le hêtre, le charme, le
houx, le cerisier et le pommier, etc.
En changeant le Mode de conguration, vous pourrez
également l’utiliser pour vérier l’humidité du plâtre, dans
les bâtiments en pierre et en maçonnerie.
L’humidimètre permet également de relever la
température ambiante.
