HowtoInstallaNewSensorModule



1. PowerOFFtheMCP-8IControlUnit,andwaitforafewminutesforallofthecircuitsto

properlydischarge.

2. Removethe‘MCP-8I’sDisplayCover’byunscrewingthe4retainingscrewsholdingitin

placetothecontrol’sbaseassembly.



3. Insertthe‘SensorModule’intothenextavailableemptyslot.



4. Replacethe‘MCP-8I’sDisplayCover’usingtheattached4retainingscrews.



Note1–ItisadvisedthatthepersoninstallingtheSensorModule,useaelectronicgrounding

straptoeliminatepossibleelectronicdamageduetostaticdischarge.



Note2–ItisnotadvisedtoremoveaSensorModuleandreplaceitwithanotherinthesameslot.





ItisALWAYSadvisedtoperforma‘SystemSettingsBackup’beforeapplyinganyupdatein

casethereareissuesandthecurrentcontrolsettingsarelost.



1. Preforma‘SystemSettingsBackup’.Checkhereforinstructions.

2. Afterperforminga‘SystemSettingsBackup’,powerOFFthecontrol.

3. InserttheUSBStickwiththeSoftwareUpdateintotheControl’sUSBPort.

4. PowerONthecontrolandwaitafewminutesfortheupdateprocesstocomplete.

Note–Thecontrol’sscreendisplaywillturnonaftertheupdateiscompleted.

5. TheUSBStickcanberemovedfromthecontrolaftertheupdateprocessiscomplete.

Note–Ifthecontrolisnotbehavingproperlyaftertheupdate,a‘SystemSettingsRestore’

shouldbeperformedtoensurethecorrectsettingsarebeingused.

Checkhereforinstructions.



3. Akeyboardwillappearfortheusertoenterthenamethatthesettingsfilewillbenamed.

Typically,membersofTechnicalServiceandEngineeringnamethemusingtheirinitialsas

partofthenametoidentifywhoperformedthebackup.Afterthedesiredfilenameisentered,

pressthebuttonlabeled‘BACKUP’tocomplete.



Note–WhenaUSBStickisintheMCP-8I’sUSBPort,thedesireddirectoryshouldbeselected

beforeperformingthebackup.Ifthelastbuttononthetoolbarislabeled‘TOUSB’thecontrols

internalSDCardDirectoryiscurrentlyselected,andbackupswillbesavedtotheSDCard.Ifthe

lastbuttononthetoolbarislabeled‘TOSD’theUSBSticksDirectoryiscurrentlyselected,and

backupswillbesavedtotheUSBStick.

Note–Allcurrentdataonthecontrolwillbelostandoverwrittenanditcannotberecovered

afterwards.Beforeperformingasystemrestore,itwouldbesafertoperformabackupfirst.


