WARRANTY
• The Safe-T-Lock™ is a sealed unit. Removing or tampering with the epoxy encapsulant will void the
warranty.
• Units damaged due to overload, abuse or incorrect installation will not be accepted in warranty.
• Units have no serviceable parts.
This product is warranted against defects in materials or workmanship for two years from the date of
purchase.Should service be required, the customer should return the product for warranty considera-
tion. All products requiring warranty service shall be returned within two years from the date of purchase.
Exclusions from this warranty are the finish, and damage caused by improper installation or use.
The manufacturer assumes no liability for costs incurred to remove or reinstall the product, or for lost
revenues due to equipment downtime.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights which vary from country to
country.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
INPUT: 12-120 vdc 0.5 amps / 10mA in stand by mode
OUTPUT: Relay contact rating : 10 amp up to 24 vdc, 1amp 36 vdc and higher
For bigger loads, an external relay must be used.
CONSTRUCTION: Epoxy encapsulated electronics, unit is rated IP65. There are no user serviceable parts
in this unit.

The Safe-T-Lock code switch unit offers a high level of security to prevent unauthorized use of equipment.
In order to set up, program, operate and retrieve data from the unit, two modes of operation are provided,
supervisor and user.
Supervisor mode allows access to the following functions:
• Change Supervisor PIN (Personal Identification Number)
• Adding/Deleting Users
• Last User Identification
• Maintenance cycle menu
User mode allows access to the vehicle along with the ability to perform the following functions:
• Change User PIN
• Operate equipment

Accessing Supervisor Menu:
1. Enter supervisor menu by depressing ‘00’
2. Enter supervisor code (4-8 digit)
3. Depress Power/Enter > High pitched tone accompanied by green and red LEDs indicates successful
entry to Supervisor Menu. Note: Entry errors are indicated by red LED and low pitch tone.
Note1:
The default Supervisor PIN is factory set to (00) 1234. It is recommended that this code be changed per the
instructions in menu option 1 shown below.
Note 2:
If supervisor PIN is lost or forgotten, the unit can be set back to the default (00) 1234 PIN by pressing 1, 3,
7 & 9 simultaneously until the reset tone occurs, followed by 4 flashes of the green and red LED (in
approximately 5 seconds). Press CE to confirm.
Note 3:
Confirmation of key activation is always provided when any key is pressed by means of audible tone and
green flash of “accept” LED.
Once supervisor menu is entered (as indicated above) the four menu selections are now available:
1. Change Supervisor PIN
2. Add/Delete Users
3. Last User.
4. Maintenance Menu.
Menu Option 1 – Change Supervisor PIN Menu:
1. While in supervisor menu, press 1 followed by Power/Enter key to access Supervisor PIN change menu.
> High Pitch Tone & Single Flash of Red LED indicates successful entry to supervisor PIN programming
mode.
2. Enter 4 - 8 digit PIN followed by power/enter key. > Green Accept LED flashes once with each key
depression.
3. Enter 4 - 8 digit PIN second time followed by power/enter key. > High pitched tone accompanied by
green and red LEDs indicates successful acceptance of new PIN.
4. Press CE key to save new supervisor PIN > High pitch tone accompanied by green and red LEDs
indicates successful save of new PIN while returning the unit to supervisor menu.
5. Choose another menu option or Press CE to exit the supervisor menu.
Menu Option 2 – Add/ Delete Users
1. While in supervisor menu, press 2 followed by Power/Enter key to access Add/Delete user function.
> High Pitch Tone and two flashes of Red LED indicate successful entry to menu option 2.
2. Press two digit user ID (01-99) to be activated, followed by enter/power key. > Unit will either respond
with Green LED / high pitch tone to indicate user ID is available or RED LED/low pitch tone that
indicates user ID is already assigned.
3. Press Power/Enter key again to change status of user ID > One of two results may occur:
• Green LED/High Pitch tone indicates user ID active.
or
• Red LED/High Pitch tone indicates user ID inactive.
Note: During the above procedure the user ID status can be toggled between inactive and active modes
until desired setting is present by further Power/Enter key depressions.
4. Press CE key to save assigned user > High pitch tone accompanied by green and red LEDs indicates
successful changes to user assignments.
5. Repeat process to Add/Delete additional users or press CE to exit to Supervisor menu.
SUPERVISOR OPERATION

SUPERVISOR OPERATION
Menu Option 3 – Last User
1. While in supervisor menu, press 3 followed by Power/Enter key to access Last user function. High Pitch
Tone & three flashes of Red LED indicate successful entry to Menu option 3.
2. Press Power/Enter key to activate reading of user code.
Note: Code is output as combination of flashes from indicator LEDs. The Green LED indicates 10s digit
and the Red LED indicates the 1s digit.
Example: 8 Green LED flashes followed by 3 Red LED flashes means user #83 was last to use vehicle.
3. To re-display last user Press Enter/Power to show code for last user again.
4. Press CE to exit Menu 3 > Green LED high pitch tone accompanied by green and red LEDs indicates
unit has exited Menu 3
5. Choose another menu option or Press CE to exit the supervisor menu.
Menu Option 4 – Maintenance Menu
1. While in supervisor menu, press 4 followed by Power/Enter key to access maintenance function. > High
Pitch Tone & four flashes of Red LED indicate successful entry to menu option 4.
2. Press the Enter/Power key to activate the maintenance alarm. > Green LED accompanied by high pitch
tone indicates maintenance alarm is active. Alarm will be set to activate after 250 hours of operation of
Safe-T-Lock unit
or
3. To Deactivate Alarm: Press enter key again > Red LED accompanied by high pitch tone indicates
maintenance alarm is inactive.
4. To Reset Maintenance Alarm at the end of 250 hour maintenance period. > Deactivate then reactivate
alarm function as indicated above.
5. Press CE to exit Menu 4 > Green LED high pitch tone accompanied by green and red LEDs indicates
unit has exited Menu 4
6. Choose another menu option or Press CE to exit the supervisor menu.
Exiting Supervisor Menu
After all Supervisor operations have been performed on unit, supervisor menu should be exited by
pressing CE key. Note: Leaving unit inactive one minute automatically exits from Supervisor menu which
has essentially the same results as Pressing key. Additionally, removing power from unit also will cause unit
to exit Supervisor menu.

Typical Operation
1. Enter two digit user ID followed by 4-8 digit PIN.
Note: Default user PIN is 1 2 3 4 (this PIN can be changed as explained below)
2. Press Power/Enter Key > High pitch tone and green LED indicate unit is activated and vehicle is ready
for use. While lock is active, the Green (Accept) LED will occasionally flash indicating electronic lock is
enabled.
Change of User PIN
1. Enter two digit user code followed by 4-8 digit PIN.
2. Press Power/Enter Key > High pitch tone and green LED indicate unit is activated. Green (Accept) LED
will occasionally flash indicating electronic lock is enabled.
Note: During the following procedures vehicle output is deactivated.
3. Press 1 followed by Power/Enter key (within one minute of user entry). > Red Program LED flashes once
with key entry.
4. Press new PIN followed by Enter/Power key. > Green Accept LED flashes once with key.
5. Re-enter new PIN followed again by Power/Enter key. > Green and Red LEDs will simultaneously flash
along with high pitch acceptance tone.
6. New PIN can now be used to access vehicle.
Disabling Vehicle
Three options:
1. Press Power/Enter Key
2. Turn truck ignition off. (See wiring diagram for units with key switch)
3. Automatic Time-Out: Absence of positive or negative voltage on gray wire will cause unit to
automatically shut off after three minute period. (See wiring diagrams)

CAUTION
Unit to be installed by qualified technician
1. Mount the Safe-T-Lock™ / Safe-T-Lock™ Plus Programmable Code Switch with 2, #8 / ST3,9 screws.
(not provided)Recommend mounting in a easily accessible location, such as on the dash panel.
2. Install provided bushing to protect wire from chafing.
3. After connected, make sure the wires are not in tension.

(1) Unit will detect switch polarity.
Switch must be normally open when seat is unoccupied
(2) For bigger loads, an external relay must be used.
(3) Automatically logs user out when key is turned off.
