1.1 Overview
TheFM4SDItransmitterandreceiverkitbyThorisdesignedtoextendtherangeofhighdefinitionHDSDIdigital
videobytransmittingthedataoverfibercable.FourfullHDSDIchannelsaretransmittedoverasinglefiberwith
nolatencyoraddeddelayinthevideowithrespecttotiming.InadditiontoHDSDIvideo,thelinkalsotransports
asinglechannelofonedirectionalRS485controldatafromthereceiverbacktothetransmitter.Thisisusefulfor
controllingequipmentsuchasvideoswitchesorPTZcameracontrollers.Linkalarmsareprovidedonbothunits
thatindicatewhenthereisafiberfaultoranopticallinkisnotestablished.Theseunitsaresuitableforall
applicationsinvolvingHDSDI,SDSDI,orDVBASIbroadcasttypedigitalvideo.Optionalupgradesforthe
auxiliaryincludebidirectionalRS232/422data,bidirectionalanalogaudio,orcontactclosure.Supported
optionsareindicatedbymodelnumbers.
