Introduction
The EdgeGate483S is a multi-service customer premises equipment (CPE) device designed to
reduce the cost of delivering voice, video, and data services to homes, small office/home office
(SOHO), and small enterprise.
This guide provides installation instructions for the GW-483S family of EdgeGate483S systems.
The GW-483S is comprised of an indoors/outdoors cabinet whose main components are a VoIP
gateway board and an optional RF analog converter board.

The GW-483S system provides the following ports:
•100BaseFx and 1GBaseX combo uplink ports (SFP)
•8x10/100BaseTX ports (RJ45 connectors)
•2xFXS Telephony Interfaces (RJ11 connectors)
Powering Options
The GW-483S system supports the following indoor/outdoor powering options:
•Indoor integrated UPS+PSU
•Indoor 110/220 power supply unit with no power backup.
•Outdoor integrated UPS+PSU
•Outdoor powering system including meter collar

Before You Install
Before you begin the installation:
1. Please review the packing list.
2. Familiarize yourself with the equipment and unit (see pictures below).
Packing List
The packing list depends on the ordered GW-483S model, but can include some or all of the
following items:
•GW-483S Cabinet
•A VoIP Gateway Board assembly with 2 position Terminal Bridge.
•Two 2-Screw Terminal Bridge assemblies.
•RF Video Converter unit (optional, as ordered)
•Power Supply kit. (optional, as ordered)
•Console cable.

NOTE
The Power, Ready, Voice and FO LNK/ACT LEDs and the Reset Button are
physically located to the left of the Phone 1/Phone 2 connectors, but their
callout labels have been moved to the right side of the module in order to
provide the user with better readability.
The top-to-bottom order of the LEDs & Reset Button corresponds to the
top-to-bottom order of their labels.
