MTP multi-fibre trunk cable installation
This installation guide describes the method of installing MTP trunk cable (N x MTP) into the
SYLEX MTP panel system.

1. Installation of MTP-LC modules into 1U 19” panel
Unpack the 1U panel and MTP-LC
modules from the packaging.
Release the latches on both sides of the
module and the plug modules into 1U
panel.
When the module is assembled in the 1U
panel push the latches back.
Repeat these steps with all remaining
modules.
The panel is now fully equipped with
modules and ready for the installation of
the trunk cable.

2. Panel information
Panel information:
There is a cut- out for cable entry on both sides of the panel. Through each cut-out you can
install:
Cutout
Duralino with
grommet
Suitable
for thread

Unscrew fastening screws on both sides
of the panel and open the drawer.
Recommended position of plastic
twisters.

3. 8x MTP trunk cable installation into 1U panel
Prepare MTP trunk cable for installation.
Partially unscrew the grommet from the
Duralino fanout.
Slide the Duralino fanout into the panel
cut-out and push it to the middle panel
side. Fasten the fanout grommet.
Plug MTP connector No.1 and No.2 into
the first MTP to LC module.

Plug MTP connector No.3 and No.4 into
the second MTP to LC module, MTP
connector 5 and 6 into the next module
and MTP connector 7 and 8 into the last
module.
For management of individual cables use
plastic twisters.
Push the drawer back into the panel
body and fasten the panel screws.
Your panel with trunk cable is ready to
be used.
This installation guide is applicable also for other Sylex MTP trunk cables with cable grommet.
