
• This appliance is designed with a protective coating around the heating coils. When
operating the first few times, you may notice momentary smoking when turning unit
off. This represents no danger to the user and does not indicate a defect in the unit.
The smoke should dissipate within a short time.
• Never block the air intake grill, as this will cause the unit to overheat. Should this
happen, a built-in safety system will operate, and the unit will be shut off automatically.
Turn the unit OFF and clear any obstruction from the air intake grill. Wait 10 minutes
before operating the appliance. If the appliance has sustained damage, do not try to
repair it. See warranty for further instructions.
• Never touch heating section as it may be hot and can burn you.
• To avoid possible scalp and/or hair burns, use HIGH setting only when hair is
wet. Reduce to LOW heat setting as the hair dries.
• To extend the life of this appliance, it is recommended to switch it to the LOW setting
for a few seconds before shutting the appliance off.
• Untwist the cord from time to time to avoid tangling and/or damage to cord.
• In the event that the appliance stops during use, turn off the switches, and allow the
appliance to cool down, at which time the thermostat will automatically reset.
• During use, do not block the air openings.
1. To turn ON, toggle Speed/ON/OFF switch downwards once for low speed and twice for
high speed setting.
2. Three heat settings are available and can be adjusted by toggling the Heat switch to desired
position.
3. For bursts of cold air, press and hold the Cold shot button.
4. To turn OFF, toggle Speed/ON/OFF switch upwards to “0” position.
5. Unplug appliance cord from outlet after each use and let appliance cool down before storing.
1. Press the RESET button on the ALCI safety device.
2. Plug your ALCI into an AC outlet, and then press the TEST button.
3. The RESET button will pop out. This verifies the safety device is operating
properly. If the RESET button does not pop out, do not use the unit.
4. Press the RESET button to reactivate the ALCI safety device and
the appliance is now ready to use.
Repeat this procedure every time you use this appliance
to confirm that the safety device is ready and operational.

The ALCI safety device in this unit is built into the plug. This device will make it inoperable
under some abnormal conditions, such as accidental immersion in water. If the appliance is
immersed in water, do not attempt to reset the ALCI safety device. The ALCI safety device
is equipped with a test button so that its operation can be checked.
• Ensure the switch is set to OFF before plugging the appliance into an electrical outlet
and adjust the switch to the selected setting. Use the LOW setting on fine or thin hair
and the HIGH setting on thick and coarse hair.
• For faster results, towel dry hair to remove excess water, then run a comb through damp
hair to detangle for best results.
• Should the Hot Body Voluminous Dryer Brush stop working for any reason, turn it off at once
and let it cool down. Separate hair into manageable sections.
• For voluminous blowouts, place the Volumizer under the hair close to the roots and roll
outward to the ends. For Extra lift at the roots, hold the Volumizer for 2 to 3 seconds
under the roots.
• To curl ends, place the Volumizer UNDER the ends and hold or 2 to 3 seconds before
rotating inward or outward depending on styling preference.
• Repeat on remaining sections until hair has been dried into lustrous, voluminous styles.
Turn the appliance off when drying and styling is complete. Allow the unit to cool
completely before storing.

Your appliance is virtually maintenance-free. No lubrication is needed. Keep all vents and
openings clean and free of dust, dirt, and hair spray. If the cord becomes twisted, untwist
prior to use.
If cleaning becomes necessary, unplug the appliance from the power source and wipe the
exterior with a damp cloth. DO NOT wash in water or allow moisture or additional debris to
enter the unit while cleaning.
Use a damp cloth for clean and wipe dry. This will help preserve the original finish of your Hot
Body Voluminous Dryer Brush. Abrasive cleaners should not be used.
This appliance is equipped with a thermostat that may cycle OFF if the temperature exceeds
comfort level due to the partially blocked air inlet or air outlet openings. In the event that the
appliance slows down during use, turn off the switches and allow the appliance to cool down,
at which time the thermostat will automatically reset. During use, do not block openings.

• If the Hot Body Voluminous Dryer Brush detects an electrical shock hazard, it will
immediately shut off. To restore power, press the RESET button on the ALCI safety
device to reactivate the circuit.
