About the Home menu

You can listen to Rhapsody Channels transferred from Best Buy Digital Music

Store to the player. First you need to install Best Buy Digital Music Store from

the supplied CD-ROM onto your computer, and then follow the on-screen

instructions to create your account for Rhapsody membership. For details

about usage or support of the software, refer to the following web site:

http://www.bestbuy.com/digitalmusic

When you connect Best Buy Digital Music Store and transfer Rhapsody

Channels to the player, (Intelligent Shuffle) on the Home menu changes to

(Rhapsody Channels).

Hint

Even if (Intelligent Shuffle) is not selected in the Home menu, you can select

“Intelligent Shuffle” play from “Music Library”.

About the bundled software

Best Buy Digital Music Store

With the Best Buy Digital Music Store, you can purchase individual songs, and/

or sign up for a membership to create a subscription account. Songs that are

purchased, subscribed to, or ripped from CDs using this software can be

transferred to your player. However, to transfer purchased or subscription

songs, you need to apply for a membership. For details, refer to the Help

dropdown in the software, or visit the following web site:

Using Rhapsody Service

Listening to Rhapsody Channels

You can listen to Rhapsody Channels transferred from Best Buy Digital Music

Store to the player.

Rhapsody Channels

5-way button

BACK/HOME

button

Press and hold the BACK/HOME button until the Home menu

appears.

Press the ///button to select (Rhapsody Channels), and

then press the button to conrm.

The Rhapsody Channel list screen appears.

Press the ///button to select a channel, and then press the

button to conrm.

The channel you selected starts to play back and the playback of songs

continues in order.

About the subscription indicator

During song playback, the subscription indicator appears in the upper right of

the “Now Playing” screen.

indicates free trial membership.*

indicates more than 8 days remain of subscription.

indicates less than 7 days remain of subscription.

indicates less than 2 days remain of subscription.

indicates your subscription is expired.

* The indicated number shows days remaining of your

trial membership.

Using Rhapsody Service

Displaying artist information

You can display the artist information by pressing the OPTION/PWR OFF button and

selecting “Artist Information” on the “Now Playing” screen.

Hints

The Rhapsody Channel list screen can be also displayed by selecting (Music Library)

in step , and then selecting “Rhapsody Channels.”

As the days pass and your subscription expiration gets near, a notice appears in the

display when the player turns on. When the message appears, follow the instructions to

renew your license.

ou can add the currently playing song on a Rhapsody Channel to the “Music Library”

from the option menu.

Y

ou can register songs in the wish list from the “Now Playing” screen. Press the

OPTION/PWR OFF button, and then select “Add to Wishlist” from the option menu.

You can also remove songs from the wish list from the “Now Playing” screen. Press the

OPTION/PWR OFF button, and select “Remove from Wishlist” from the option menu.

Songs registered in the wish list can be confirmed with the Best Buy Digital Music Store.

Notes

When playing back a Rhapsody Channel, you cannot set the play mode or playback

range from the option menu on the “Now Playing” screen.

Rhapsody Channels do not have song lists.

The currently playing song/total number of songs is not displayed on the “Now Playing”

screen.

Using Rhapsody Service

Adding songs transferred from Rhapsody Channels to the“Music

Library”

You can add songs transferred from Rhapsody Channels to the “Music Library.”

When the player is connected to Rhapsody service, songs transferred from

Rhapsody Channels, once played back, will be deleted on the player. However,

the songs added from Rhapsody Channels to the “Music Library” can be

searched from “Music Library” or managed just like songs transferred from

other than Rhapsody Channels.

Press the OPTION/PWR OFF button and select “Add to Library” on

the “Now Playing” screen.

The message asking if you want to add the currently playing song to the

“Music Library” appears.

Press the ///button to select “Yes,” and then press the 

button to conrm.

The song is added to the “Music Library.”

Hint

The song added to the “Music Library” is displayed with the icon in the “Now

Playing” screen.

Using Rhapsody Service

Displaying the Account Information

You can see information such as user ID, etc., to renew your subscription.

If you do not use Rhapsody service, “Account Information” is not displayed in

(Settings) menu.



Press and hold the BACK/HOME button until the Home menu appears.

Press the ///button to select (Settings), and then press

the button to conrm.

Press the ///button to select “Common Settings,” and then

press the button to conrm.

The list of “Common Settings” options appears.

Press the ///button to select “Account Information,” and then

press the button to conrm.

The “Account Information” screen appears.

Account Information

Option Description

Service name: The name of the service currently in use appears.

User ID: Your user ID appears.

Updated: The date you last renewed your subscription appears.

Expires: The date that your subscription will expire appears.

Connect to music service

software within [XXX]

days to update the license.

Period of time that you have to renew your

subscription appears in [XXX].

License expired. Connect

to music service software

to update the license.

If this message appears, renew your license.

Troubleshooting

For issues about Rhapsody Channels consult the following troubleshooting

tables.

Rhapsody Channels

Symptom Cause/Remedy

No artist information is

displayed in the “Artist

Information” screen.

The artist information may not exist, depending on

the artist.

Though the subscription

has not expired yet, the

message of subscription

expiration notice or

appears.

Your settings for date and time may have been reset

because the battery power was used up.

Connect the player to your computer and

recharge the battery, then connect to Rhapsody

service using Best Buy Digital Music Store.

Cannot search for other

songs, albums, and artists

by the song information of

the currently playing song.

When playing back Rhapsody Channels, this

function is not available.

Troubleshooting

Messages

The followings are messages about Rhapsody Channels.

Message Meaning Remedy

Could not add this song to

Library. Not enough free space in

memory.

You could not add the

selected song to the

“Music Library” because

the player’s available

capacity is insufficient.

Connect the player to

your computer using the

supplied USB cable, and

then delete any

unnecessary data from the

player using appropriate

software.

No songs in this channel. No songs exist in the

channel you selected from

the Rhapsody Channel

list.

Re-connect to Rhapsody

service and try the same

channel again.
