When using this trash can, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the
following:
Read this manual before using this trash can.1.
Never immerse the trash can lid into water or any other liquid.2.
Do not force the lid to close.3.
Do not expose the sensor to direct sunlight as it will destroy the sensor.4.
Do not use AC adapter (included) and battery (not included) at the same time to operate5.
the trash can. It can only be powered by one source at a time. Use the AC adapter
provided.
Never insert the new and old batteries into the battery compartment at the same time.6.
Only use the same brand of 4 "AA" Alkaline batteries.
Always keep the sensor clean and dry. The trash can may not open properly if moisture7.

Make sure there is enough room to operate the automatic trash can without blocking the8.
opening or closing of the lid.
Be careful not to overfi ll a garbage bag. It can easily tear when you pull it out. You may 9.
also have trouble removing an overfi lled bag.
It is recommended to replace the activated carbon odor fi lter every three months.10.

1. Install batteries
Remove the trash can lid and locate the battery compartment underneath the lid.•
Remove the battery cap and insert 4 new "AA" Alkaline batteries in the correct +/-•
positions.
Secure the battery cap into place.•
2. Insert trash bag
Insert one 13 gallon trash bag into the trash•
can fi rst and tuck bag edges over the trash
can body.
Place the bag retainer ring on top of the•
can body and lift two smart rings. Tuck the
bag edges over the retainer ring and then
put down the smart rings to keep the bag in
place.
4. How to use your trash can
Turn on your trash can
Turn on the switch on the back of the lid, one of the indicator light will fl ash every 3 •
seconds to indicate the trash can is ready to use. You can turn it off to lock the lid from
pets and kids. The symbol "O" on switch means "OFF", the symbol "I" on switch means
"ON".
3. Place the trash can lid
Place the trash can lid onto the can body and make sure it is securely attached.•

Automatically
Place your hand or garbage within the sensor range (≤3.9-5.9 inches), the lid will open •
automatically and the six indicators will illuminate red. The lid will remain open if it
detects objects within the sensor range. After you remove your hand or garbage from the
sensor range, the six indicators will become off counterclockwise and the lid will close
automatically. You can press the "CLOSE" button to close the lid.
Manually
Press "OPEN" or "CLOSE" buttons to open or close the lid manually. The lid will remain•
open for fi ve minutes before closing automatically if you do not press "CLOSE" button. It is
ideal for disposing of multiple items. If you force the lid to close before it close automatically,
the lid will not open if you press "OPEN" button or place objects within sensor range. The
trash can will reset automatically after the six indicators become off (after fi ve minutes) or
you can press "CLOSE" button to reset.
Note
There is a 90° rotating sensor ball on the lid. Turn the ball to change the position of "•".
When " " is upward-facing, the sensor zone is above the lid. When " " is front-facing,
the sensor zone is in front of the lid. Adjust the sensor zone according to your habit. Your
hand can activate the sensor only when it is placed within the sensor range.
Low battery: Six indicators will fl ash together to indicate that the batteries need to be •
replaced.

Caution
Never immerse the trash can lid into water or any other liquid.
Turn off the switch on the back of the lid to lock the lid before cleaning.
Clean
Wipe clean the lid and sensor area with a soft damp cloth and dry it immediately with a soft•
dry cloth.
Wipe the outside and inside of the trash can body with a damp cloth.•
If you will not use the trash can for an extended period of time, please clean the trash can•
and remove the batteries. Store it in a dry place.
Remove the trash can lid and locate the odor fi lter compartment underneath the lid. Open •
the odor fi lter compartment cover and replace the fi lter.
