Preface
Purpose
The purpose of this manual is to describe the TelumTM GE-QT 4-port Gigabit Ethernet
AdvancedMCTM module and the services the module provides in a telecommunications
environment. This manual includes a description of the Telum GE-QT 4-port Gigabit Ethernet
AdvancedMC hardware and firmware, as well as information for using the accompanying Linux
driver.
Audience
This manual is intended for the developer or service personnel who use the Telum GE-QT 4-Port
Gigabit Ethernet AdvancedMC module in their system.

This manual contains the following chapters:
“Chapter 1: Product Overview,” presents an overview of Telum GE-QT hardware and firmware as
well as compliance information and warranty.
“Chapter 2: Hardware Description,” describes the hardware components on the Telum GE-QT
module. It includes a description of connector pinouts and Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs).
“Chapter 3: Firmware Description,” provides a listing of PCI configuration registers as well as other
information for using the Telum GE-QT.
“Chapter 4: Installation and Hot Swap Procedures,” describes the procedures to install and to hot
swap the Telum GE-QT module.
“Chapter 5: Linux Driver Implementation,” provides information on how to compile, install, and load
the Linux driver.
This manual also contains a glossary and an index.
