How can I easily replace a fixed installed OBU myself?
You can easily replace a fixed built-in OBU with a new OBU yourself. To do so you will
require:
a size T8 Torx screwdriver (see photo).
STEP 1:
Take the OBU off the windscreen by
releasing the suction cups and then turn
the OBU over.
REMOVE THE BOTTOM TWO SUCTION
CUPS.
Please note: There are 2 seals on the rear
of the OBU: the one on the battery
compartment near the middle may be
removed, but the other one on the bottom
right must never be removed.
STEP 2:
On the rear you will find 1 Torx screw near
the middle of the OBU that keeps the battery
compartment shut. The screw is usually
protected by a red seal. First remove this seal
with a small flat-head screwdriver. This won’t
leave any damage on the OBU. Then undo
this Torx screw with a Torx T8 screwdriver.
