Sandberg Modem

Introduction
The Sandberg Modem enables you to con-
nect to the Internet through a standard
telephone line. The modem is of the internal
type that needs to be installed inside your
computer. This means you avoid any an-
noying power supplies and boxes around
your computer workstation.
Modem hardware installation
1. Switch off your computer and discon-
nect all the cables.
2. Open the case.
3. Remove the cover plate on the rear of
the computer next to a free PCI socket.
If you are unsure which ports in your
computer are PCI ports, look in the
instructions for your computer or moth-
erboard.
4. Carefully insert the card into the PCI
socket so that the metal flange is lo-
cated where you removed the cover
plate. Screw the card to the computer
case.
5. Close the case, connect all cables and
start Windows.

Modem software installation in
Windows®98
1. Start Windows. The “Add New Hard-
ware” wizard will start. Select “Search
for the best driver”. Click “Next”.
2. Insert the enclosed CD-ROM.
3. Select “Specify a location” and enter
the path “D:\W98_dfv”. (“D” indicates
your CD-ROM drive.) Click “OK” and
then “Next”.
4. Windows will locate the drivers. Click
“Next” and then “Finish”.
5. Windows installs other features auto-
matically.
6. Restart Windows.
The modem is now installed and ready for
use.
Modem software installation in
Windows®Me
1. Start Windows. The “Add New Hard-
ware” wizard will start. Select
“Specify the location of the
driver (Advanced)”. Click “Next”.
2. Insert the enclosed CD-ROM.
3. Select “Specify a location” and
enter the path “D:\Wme_dfv”.
(“D” indicates your CD-ROM drive.)
Click “OK” and then “Next”.
4. Windows will locate the drivers.
Click “Next” and then “Finish”.
5. Windows installs the related devices.
Select “Automatically search for
a better driver
(Recommended)”. Click “Finish”.
6. Restart Windows.
The modem is now installed and ready for
use.

Windows®2000
1. Start Windows. The “Found New Hard-
ware” wizard will start. Click “Next”.
2. Insert the enclosed CD-ROM.
3. Select “Search for a suitable driver
for my device (Recommended)”.
Select “Specify a location”. Click
“Next”.
4. Specify the path “D:\W2kxp_dfv”.
(“D” indicates your CD-ROM drive).
Click “OK” and then “Next”.
5. Windows will locate the drivers. Click
“Next”.
6. After the drivers have been installed,
click “Finish”. Windows installs the
related devices automatically.
7. Restart Windows.
The modem is now installed and ready for
use.
Modem software installation in
Windows®XP
1. Start Windows. The “Found New Hard-
ware” wizard will start. Select “Install
from a list or specific location
(Advanced)”. Click “Next”.
2. Insert the enclosed CD-ROM in your CD-
ROM drive.
3. Select “Include this location in the
search” and enter the path
“D:\W2kxp_dfv”. (“D” indicates your
CD-ROM drive). Click “Next”.
4. Windows will locate the drivers. Click
“Next”.
5. The drivers are installed. Click “Finish”.
6. Windows installs the related devices
automatically.
7. Restart Windows.
The modem is now installed and ready for
use.

Troubleshooting
• If Windows cannot locate your modem
automatically, it may be that Plug and
Play is not activated in either Windows
or BIOS, (information about this may be
found in the instructions for Windows or
the motherboard) or that there is a
resource conflict – if that is the case, try
moving the modem to another PCI slot.
• If Windows notifies you that the modem
cannot be found or may be off when you
try to dial up the Internet, check that
the correct modem is selected in Dial-up
Connections.
• In certain cases it may be necessary to
configure the modem specifically to
special dial-up connections, e.g. certain
home banking systems, as for various
reasons these have opted to maintain
their own communication standards.

Introduktion
Sandberg Modem giver dig mulighed for at
komme på internettet via en almindelig
telefonlinie. Sandberg modem installeres
inde i din computer. På denne måde slipper
du for irriterende strømforsyninger og
bokse omkring computerarbejdspladsen.
Hardware installation af modem
1. Sluk computeren og træk alle ledninger
ud.
2. Åbn kabinettet.
3. Afmontér dækpladen på bagsiden af
computeren ved en ledig PCI-port. Hvis
du er i tvivl om, hvilke porte inde i din
computer der er PCI-porte, så kig i
vejledningen til computer eller bund-
kort.
4. Sæt forsigtigt kortet ned i PCI-porten,
så metalflangen kommer til at sidde,
hvor du fjernede dækpladen. Fastgør
kortet til kabinettet.
5. Saml kabinettet, tilslut alle ledninger og
start Windows.
