A fiber/copper combo port is composed of the 1000Base-X SFP port and the corresponding 10/100/1000Base-T
self-adaptive Ethernet port, and only one of the ports can be used at one time.
A Gigabit/10G combo port is composed of four Gigabit fiber/copper combo ports and the corresponding 10G SFP+ ports,
and only one group of ports can be used at one time.
To activate a fiber/copper combo port, you need to restart the wireless controller, but to activate a 10G/1G
combo port, you do not need to.

Power Supply
The wireless controller uses RG-PA300I power modules.
The RG-PA300I modules receive AC input.
Rated voltage range: 100 V to 240 V AC
Maximum voltage range: 90 V to 264 V AC
Frequency: 50 to 60 Hz
Rated current: 6.5 A
Power cord: 10 A
Cooling Solution
The fan tray locates at the left side of the chassis and the fan tray slot locates at the back panel. A fan tray contains four
hot-swappable fans. The wireless controller supports fan fault alarms and speed adjustment. Figure 1-4 illustrates the
structure of the fan tray.

Chapter 2 Preparing the Installation
Safety Recommendations
To prevent device damage and bodily injury, please read carefully the safety recommendations described
in this chapter.
The recommendations do not cover all possible hazardous situations.
Installation Safety
Keep the chassis clean, free from any dust.
Do not place the device in a walking area.
Do not wear loose clothes or any other things that may be caught by the chassis during installation and
maintenance.
Before uninstalling the chassis, power off and unplug all power cables.
Movement Safety
Avoid moving the device frequently.
Keep balance when moving the device, and avoid injuring your leg and feet or spraining your waist.
Turn off all power supplies and unplug all power cables before you remove the device.
Electrical Safety
Please observe local regulations and specifications when performing electrical operations. Relevant operators must
be qualified.
Please carefully check for any potential danger in the working area, for example, ungrounded power supply,
unreliable grounding of the power supply and damp/wet ground or floor.
Find out the location of the emergency power supply switch in the room before installation. First cut off the power
supply in case of an accident.
Do not do the maintenance with the power on by one person.
Be sure to make a careful check before you shut down the power supply.
Do not place the device in a damp/wet location. Do not let any liquid enter the chassis
Any nonstandard and inaccurate electrical operation can cause an accident such as fire or electric shock,
thus causing severe even fatal damages to human bodies and device.

Direct or indirect touch through a wet object on high voltage and power line can bring a fatal danger.
ESD Prevention
To prevent damage from static electricity, note that:
Properly ground the device.
Take dust prevention measures in the room.
Maintain an appropriate humidity.
Laser Safety
Most of the optical modules used by the wireless controller are Class I laser products. Observe the following:
When a fiber transceiver is working, ensure that the port has been connected to a fiber cable or is covered with a
dust cap so as to keep out dust and avoid burning your eyes.
Do not stare into any fiber port.
Do not stare into any fiber port under any circumstances, which may cause permanent damage to your eyes.
Preparing Installation Site
The wireless controller must be installed indoors. To ensure normal operation, the installation site must meet the following
requirements.
Ventilation
For proper ventilation, leave a minimum clearance of 10 cm (3.9 in.) from the rear and both sides of the chassis. And bind
your loose cables together or place them on a cable tray to avoid blocking the air inlets.
Temperature and Humidity
To ensure normal operation and service life of the device, maintain appropriate temperature and humidity levels in your
equipment room. See Table 2-1. Improper room temperature and humidity can cause damages to the device.
High relative humidity may affect insulation materials, resulting in poor insulation and even electrical leakage, and
sometimes may lead to change of mechanical properties of materials and corrosion of metal parts.
Low relative humidity may dry and shrink insulation sheets and cause static electricity that can damage the circuitry
inside the device.
High temperature greatly reduces reliability of the device and shortens its service life.
