ELECTRICAL CONNECTION (UK ONLY)
For your safety please read the following information
Warning: This appliance must be earthed.
The appliance must be connected to a 220-240 volts 50 cycle AC supply by means
of a three pin socket, suitably earthed and should be protected by a 5 amp fuse in
the plug or a 5 amp fuse in the consumer unit.
The appliance is supplied with a rewireable 13 amp 3 pin plug fitted with a 5 amp
fuse. Should the fuse require replacement, it must be replaced with a fuse rated at 5
amp and approved to BS1362.
If the mains plug is unsuitable for the socket outlet in your home or is removed for
any other reason, then the cut off plug should be disposed of safely to prevent the
hazard of electric shock.
There is a danger of electric shock if the cut off plug is inserted into any 13 amp
socket outlet.

How to wire a 13 amp plug.
Important
The wires in the mains lead on this appliance are coloured in accordance with the
following code:
Green and Yellow - Earth
Blue – Neutral
Brown – Live
As the colours may not correspond with the markings identifying
the terminals in your plug proceed as follows.
The green and yellow wire must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is
marked with the letter E or with the earth symbol or coloured green and yellow.

The blue wire must be connected to the terminal marked N or coloured black.

The brown wire must be connected to the terminal marked L or coloured red.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to
reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock and / or personal injury.
1. Read all instructions.
2. Make sure that your outlet voltage corresponds to the voltage stated on the rating
label on the underside of the appliance.
3. Do not immerse appliance, cord or plug in water or other liquid.
4. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
5. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged mains lead or plug, if its mains lead is
damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified service agent.
6. Do not use an extension cable, it may result in fire, electric shock and / or personal
injury.
7. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch a hot surface.
8. To disconnect, remove plug from wall outlet. Do not pull the cord to remove the plug
from the mains supply socket.
9. Only use this appliance for the intended use.
10. Do not leave the coffee maker unattended while it is operating.
11. Be careful not to get scalded by steam.
12. Use handles and knobs only, accessible surfaces may get hot.
13. Never use the appliance if the carafe shows any signs of cracks. Only use the .
carafe supplied with this appliance. Use care, as the carafe is very fragile.
14. Never switch your coffee maker on without water in it.
15. Stand the appliance on a stable flat surface before use.
16. Do not use outdoors.
17. Always allow the appliance to cool before cleaning.
18. This appliance is intended for domestic use only any other use may invalidate your
warranty.
19. This product is not a toy, Keep out of reach of children.
20. Do not touch the appliance whilst in use as there are hot surfaces on this product.
21. Do not let the appliance or it’s lead come into contact with hot surfaces.

WARNING:
Do not allow the mains cord to come into contact with hot surfaces.
Use the appliance out of children’s reach. Prevent them from pulling the mains
cord.
Never use the appliance if the mains cord or the mains plug or the appliance itself is
damaged.
If the mains cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified service agent.
Do not pour any water into the tank once the appliance has been turned on
The heating plate is hot when in operation. Do not touch, risk of severe burn.
Before first use:
For a better taste, carry out 2 or 3 boil-processes with fresh water (without coffee).
Once all the water has passed through, switch the appliance off and let it cool down
for around 5 minutes, then repeat the process.
Making coffee:
Open the water tank cover and pour the desired volume of water into the water tank.
The number of cups can be read on the water level indicator on the side of the water
tank. Close the water tank cover, then open the filter holder by pulling the filter holder
tab to the left (the filter holder will hinge open), fill the filter basket with the desired
quantity of ground coffee, replace the filter basket and close the filter holder.
Switch on the appliance. Wait until the brewing process is finished and the water
filter has emptied
For large cups: use 5-6g of ground coffee for each cup.
Making more coffee:
If you have made one jug of coffee and wish to make some more straight away,
switch the coffee maker off and allow at least 5 minutes for it to cool down.
Then you can refill the water tank.
Cleaning:
Always remove the mains plug from the wall socket before cleaning the appliance.
Never immerse the appliance in water.
You should clean it with a damp cloth.
The glass carafe, filter holder and the filter basket can be washed in hot soapy water.
Rinse with clean hot water and dry. These items can also be washed in a
dishwasher.
Descaling
Descale your coffee maker regularly.
Operate the appliance as normal. Use 2 parts vinegar to 8 parts water and do not
use any coffee.
After descaling let the appliance boil water twice more with only water to rinse away
the vinegar and scale remainder

L'utilisation de tout appareil électrique suppose le respect de certaines précautions de
sécurité élémentaires afin de réduire les risques d'incendie, d'électrocution et de blessures
corporelles.
1. Lisez toutes les instructions portées dans ce guide.
2. Vérifiez que la tension d'alimentation requise (elle est indiquée par une étiquette
collée sous l'appareil) correspond à celle fournie par le secteur.
3. Ne plongez pas l'appareil, son cordon d'alimentation ou sa prise dans de l'eau ou tout
autre liquide.
4. Débranchez le cordon d'alimentation de la prise secteur lorsque vous n'utilisez pas
votre appareil et également avant de le nettoyer.
5. N'utilisez aucun appareil dont le cordon d'alimentation ou la prise est endommagé ;
apportez-le immédiatement à un technicien qualifié pour remplacement.
6. N'utilisez pas de rallonge électrique afin de réduire les risques d'incendie,
d'électrocution et de blessures corporelles.
7. Ne laissez pas le cordon d'alimentation pendre au-dessus du bord d'une table ou d'un
comptoir, ni entrer en contact avec une surface chaude.
8. Pour éteindre l'appareil, débranchez son cordon d'alimentation de la prise secteur.
Ne tirez jamais sur le cordon même mais saisissez la prise pour le débrancher.
9. Utilisez l'appareil uniquement pour l'application recommandée dans ce guide.
10. Ne laissez pas la cafetière sans surveillance lorsqu'elle fonctionne.
11. Faites attention à ne pas vous brûler avec la vapeur.
12. Ne touchez qu'aux poignées et boutons de la cafetière, toute autre surface accessible
devenant chaude en cours de fonctionnement.
13. N'utilisez pas votre cafetière si la carafe est fendue ou autrement endommagée.
Utilisez uniquement la carafe fournie avec votre cafetière. Manipulez la carafe avec
précaution : elle est fragile.
14. N'allumez jamais la cafetière sans y avoir versé de l'eau auparavant.
15. Posez la cafetière sur une surface plate et stable avant de l'allumer.
16. Ne l'utilisez pas en extérieur.
17. Attendez que la cafetière se refroidisse avant de la nettoyer.
18. Cet appareil est destiné à un usage domestique uniquement ; toute autre utilisation
invalide la garantie.
19. Votre cafetière n'est pas un jouet, aussi gardez-la hors de portée des enfants.

AVERTISSEMENT :
Veillez à ce que le cordon d'alimentation ne vienne pas en contact avec des surfaces
chaudes.
Placez la cafetière hors de portée des enfants. Ne les laissez pas tirer le cordon
d'alimentation.
N'utilisez pas la cafetière si son cordon d'alimentation ou sa prise est endommagé.
Amenez-la immédiatement à un technicien qualifié pour remplacer l'élément
défectueux.
Ne versez jamais d'eau dans le réservoir de la cafetière une fois que vous avez
allumé celle-ci.
La plaque chauffante devient très chaude lorsque la cafetière fonctionne. La toucher
vous expose alors à de graves brûlures.
Avant la première utilisation
Votre café aura un meilleur goût si, avant la toute première préparation, vous faites
bouillir 2 à 3 fois de l'eau seule (sans café). Versez une première fois de l'eau dans le
réservoir, allumez la cafetière et attendez que l'eau passe dans la carafe ; éteignez
alors la cafetière, laissez-la refroidir pendant environ 5 minutes et recommencez
deux autres fois ce processus.
Préparation du café
Ouvrez le couvercle du réservoir d'eau et versez-y la quantité d'eau désirée. Le
nombre de tasses que vous pouvez obtenir est indiqué sur le côté du réservoir, en
même temps que les marques de niveau d'eau. Fermez le couvercle du réservoir
d'eau, ouvrez le couvercle du porte filtre en poussant son taquet vers la gauche (le
couvercle pivote sur sa charnière), retirez le filtre, versez-y la quantité de café
appropriée, remettez le filtre en place et fermez le couvercle du porte filtre.
Allumez la cafetière. Attendez la fin du processus, notamment que toute l'eau dans le
filtre s'écoule dans la carafe.
Pour préparer beaucoup de tasses : prévoyez 5-6 g de café moulu pour chaque
tasse.
Préparation de tasses de café supplémentaires
Si vous venez de terminer une première carafe de café et avez besoin d'en préparer
une seconde, éteignez la cafetière, laissez-la se refroidir pendant au moins 5
minutes.
Remplissez le réservoir d'eau et recommencez la procédure de préparation indiquée
ci-dessus.
Nettoyage
Débranchez le cordon d'alimentation de la prise secteur avant toute opération de
nettoyage.
