1 Installation
1.1 Range of application
The CenterOne, CenterTwo or CenterThree devices are to be installed and operated in
the following ambient conditions:
1.2 Installation, Setup
The unit can be operated in three different ways:
– mounted in a 19" rack cabinet
– mounted in an operator panel
– as a desktop unit
Rack mounting The unit is designed for installation into a 19" rack chassis adapter according to DIN 41
494. For this purpose, four collar screws and plastic sleeves are supplied with it.
Installation location sheltered (interior)
Degree of protection IP 30
Installation altitude max. 2000 m
Ambient temperature +5°C to +50°C

DANGER
Commissioning of a defective product
Putting a product which presents a visible damage into operation can be extremely haz-
ardous.
If the product presents a visible damage do not put it into operation and make sure it
is not inadvertently put into operation.
NOTICE
Loss of the protection class of the rack
If the product is installed in a rack, it is likely to lower the protection class of the rack
(protection against foreign bodies and water) e.g. according to the EN 60204-1 regula-
tions for switching cabinets.
Take appropriate measures for the rack to meet the specifications of the protection
class.
NOTICE
Thermal overload!
Set up the unit so that the admissible maximum ambient temperature (e. g. due to
installation or sunlight) is not exceeded.
Ensure adequate air circulation!

Guide rail
Fig. 1: Guide rail on the rack module adapter
It is advisable to fit a guide rail to the rack module adapter to ease the pressure on the
front panel of the device.
Mounting height of the rack module adapter
Ascertain the mounting height of the device on the basis of the following diagram.
Fig. 2: Mounting height (1 or 2)
Rack mounting at mounting height 1 (only applies to CenterOne)
Secure the rack module adapter in place in the switchgear cabinet
Slide the device into the rack module adapter.
Secure the device in place using the screws supplied.
?
12
NOTICE
Thermal overload!
When setting up the device, ensure that the maximum permissible ambient temper-
ature (due to installation or solar radiation, for instance) is not exceeded.
Ensure that there is good air circulation!

4
Installation
Rack mounting at mounting height 2 (applies to CenterOne/CenterTwo/Cen-
terThree)
Secure the rack module adapter in place in the switchgear cabinet
only for CenterOne: Fasten the adapter plate in place as an upper extension of the
device front panel using the screws supplied with the adapter plate.
Slide the device into the rack module adapter.
Secure the device in place using the screws supplied with the device.

Thermal overload!
When setting up the device, ensure that the maximum permissible ambient temper-
ature (due to installation or solar radiation, for instance) is not exceeded.
Ensure that there is good air circulation!
NOTICE
Accessories for mounting the CenterOne
An adapter plate inclusive of two neck screws and a plastic nipple are available for the
installation of the CenterOne(see accessories).

Installation
5
Installation in a Con-
trol Panel
The following operator panel cutout is required for mounting in an operator panel:

Guide the device into the operator panel cutout.
– It is advisable to support the device in order to ease the load on the front panel.
Fasten the device in place with four M3 or comparable screws.
Desk-Top Unit The CenterOne/CenterTwo/CenterThree is also suited for use as desk-top unit. For this
purpose, two self-adhesive rubber feet as well as a slip-on rubber bar are supplied with it.
NOTICE
Loss of the protection class of the rack
If the product is installed in a rack, it is likely to lower the protection class of the rack
(protection against foreign bodies and water) e.g. according to the EN 60204-1 regula-
tions for switching cabinets.
Take appropriate measures for the rack to meet the specifications of the protection
class.

Installation
Stick the two supplied rubber feet to the rear part of the bottom plate.
Slip the supplied rubber bar onto the bottom edge of the front panel.
1.3 Connecting to the mains power supply
The CenterOne/CenterTwo/CenterThree is equipped with an universal power supply
with an input voltage range of 100 ... 240 V AC.
NOTICE
Thermal overload!
Set up the unit so that the admissible maximum ambient temperature (e. g. due to
installation or sunlight) is not exceeded.
Ensure adequate air circulation!
CAUTION
Excess voltage!
Danger of destroying the unit.
Power connections must comply with local regulations. Voltage information given on
the rating plate must correspond to the mains voltage values.
Use only cable with protective earth conductor.
To protect the electronics and the power supply cable in case of failure provide an
appropriate network safety device.
WARNING
Danger of electric shock
In case of defect, the parts connected to the mains supply are under voltage.
Always keep the mains connection freely accessible so you can disconnect it at any
time.

Installation

Fig. 7: Mains cable with protective earth conductor
Switch off switch S1 on the power pack (position "0").
Connect the mains cable to the mains.
Always ensure a safe connection to the protective earthing conductor (PE, protection
class I).
To protect the unit in case of malfunction, carry out fuse protection in accordance with
the regional regulations.
– Select a fuse with slow characteristics.
If the unit is installed in a rack, the mains voltage must be supplied via a switched power
distributor.
Earthing On the rear side there is a screw to connect the CenterOne/CenterTwo/CenterThree via
a protective ground if necessary, for example, with the protective earthing of the pumping
station.

1.4 Connections
Transmitter terminals
CH 1, CH 2 and CH3 There are two terminals wired in parallel available for each measuring channel.
●an 8-pin RJ45 socket (CH A)
●a 15-pin sub-D socket (CH B)
Connect the transmitter using a preassembled measuring cable or with a self-manu-
factured, shielded cable (electromagnetic compatibility) to terminals CH 1, CH 2 or CH
3 on the back of the device.

voltage.
2) The variation between the analog output (pin 1) and the display on the device is a maximum of +/-
20 mV.
