1. Introduction
This equipment meets the requirements of EEC
operating guidelines 89/392/EEC, 91/368EWG
and EEC low-voltage guideline 72/23/EEC. The
ScreenLifter is a handling system for heavy and large
displays (plasma,TFT etc.) in order to reduce human
effort and working hours during transport, assembly
and adjustment to a minimum. The ScreenLifter is
not a system for continuous use, e.g., for changing
the elevator position of displays. It is not designed
for show effects such as choreographic changing of
display positions, since system overload is guaranteed.
Our goal was to combine a transport system for
heavy displays and a system for elevation adjustment,
in order to ensure economic user handling of displays.
The ScreenLifter has been conceived for maneuvering
PanasonicTH-103PF9EK Plasma Displays. Equipment
for other displays and/or conversion kits for
products of other manufacturers are available upon
request with MediaScreen GmbH and its respective
distributors. These operating instructions refer to
the operation of ScreenLifters in connection with
PanasonicTH-103PF9EK Plasma Displays only. You
will be surprised how simple and fast the ScreenLifter
handles this large and heavy type of display
particularly when contained in the MediaScreen
ScreenLifter -Case. Once the display is installed, the
ScreenLifter takes care of loading and unloading, lifting,
lowering and rotation of the display.

2. Safety Precautions
Read the operating instructions and all safety precautions carefully before rst set-up. •
Keep the operating instructions for later reference. •
Before operating the system, make sure that the operating voltage of the system corresponds•
with the local power supply. (Check type label!)
Opening or exchange of electrical components may only be carried out by qualied technical •
personnel or the manufacturer.
In case of malfunctions like, e.g., smoke, smell or unusual noises, switch off all system •
components and disconnect all power connections.
The maximum operating duration of the lifting column engines as stated on the type label must•
never be exceeded.
Any overall changes, control changes, changes of control elements or the position switches etc. •
are prohibited.
The ScreenLifter may not be operated in a potentially explosive atmosphere.•
Do not set up to the ScreenLifter outdoors. The ScreenLifter may be operated in dry rooms •
only.
ScreenLifter and display combined weigh approx. 600 kg. When setting up the device, consider •
the load-carrying capacity and condition of the surface in particular of stages and other mobile
constructions.
Place the ScreenLifter only on even and horizontal surfaces, since it could otherwise•
overbalance when lifting or lowering the heavy display.
Also make sure that no hard objects such as screws, waste or similar objects lie on the surface•
when setting up the display, since this could impair stability.
These safety precautions must be observed minutely! If the system is inappropriately
operated it may cause material damage which could result in possible injury!
3
Secure the ScreenLifter through a screw connection with the surface. Extendable perforated •
tiles are located at each corner of the cap.
4
The ScreenLifter is designed for displays with a dead weight of 220 kg and dimensions of l x w•
x h 245 x 145 x 14 cm.
Each display can be connected to the ScreenLifter with the respective adaption frame only. Do •
not install a display, if you do not possess a corresponding certied adaption frame.
Before you connect the display to the ScreenLifter adaption frame, remove the ScreenLifter•
from its transportation packaging or from the screen elevator case if necessary.
You should never open all catches of both case hoods at the same time. When removing one •
hood the other one could fall off and damage people or objects. Therefore, rst open the
catches of only one hood and take it off the transport case before opening the catches of the
other hood.
5
After the hoods have been removed, they must be secured against falling, or at least positioned•
against a rm support, since they do not have sufcient stability.
Check all bolt connections prior to operation.•
The ears on the adaption frame only simplify rotation of the display. They may not be used as •
eyes or attachment points to secure or support the display, nor to lift the ScreenLifter.
If you detect parts bent or otherwise damaged, the ScreenLifter must not be operated any•
longer.
Never try to carry out repairs of the ScreenLifter. Repairs may only be carried out by the •
manufacturer.
When lifting, lowering or rotating the display, make sure that no objects or body parts get •
jammed.
The display may only be rotated slowly into the direction intended.•
The display may not be rotated if it is in highest or lowest position, since it could be damaged•
in these positions.
The minimum distance when rotating between the lower edge of the display and the•
ScreenLifter cap depends on the size of the display. Please see chapter 4.4 for exact data.

4. Operation of the ScreenLifter
4.1 Control Functions and Characteristics
The ScreenLifter has a built-in synchronous control to lift and lower the two runners in the lifting columns.
When lifting and lowering the load, the operation duration of the control, as specied on the type
label (1min. ON, 9 min. OFF) may not be exceeded. When overheating, the equipment switches OFF
automatically and the display shows the message “HOT”. In this case, wait until the control has cooled
down and the message “HOT” has ceased. Wait at least 15 minutes in any case.
The ScreenLifter is operated with the control panel in the cap of the ScreenLifter (POS15) or with an
additional cable remote control. (Optional accessory).
The basic functions are lifting and lowering the cap for unloading and loading (Unload/load) and lifting and
lowering the display (“Lift Screen“). The three-digit display of the control panel approximately shows the
height of the lower display edge in cm in relation to the surface level. The illustration below shows the
control panel with the keys “LIFT“, “O“, “DOWN“, “UP“ and the height and error message display.
