the support bracket (1) near where the back of the printing

unit will be.

2. Carefully lift the back of the printing unit and align the wells

under the back of the printing unit with the plugs on the

support bracket. Lower the printing unit on top of the

bracket. This will provide stability for the MFP when the

scanning unit is attached.

3. Make sure the printing unit and the support bracket are

aligned and firmly in place.

4. Remove the orange transport restraints from the scanning

unit mounts. To do this, first release the tape. Then, turn the

locking knob counterclockwise to release the restraint and

pull it out.

NOTE!

Do not remove the orange paper band extending from

inside the printing unit on the right side. This band

provides instructions for preparing the fusing unit.

WARNING!

The support bracket prevents the unit from tipping over

when in use. Using the unit without installing the

support bracket may cause damage or personal injury.

SETTING UP THE SCANNING UNIT

position. Close the cover.

CAUTION!

The scan mechanism is locked during transport to

prevent damage. Be sure to unlock it before using the

machine.
