½Caution: The flush-mounted receiver can be
damaged. If there are any 230 V cables in
the installation area, make sure to maintain
the distances to them specified in the
applicable standards and regulations.
Requirement: The battery has not been inserted.
Proceed as follows:
1If there are any 230 V cables in the installation area:
Disconnect from power supply.
½Attention: The flush-mounted transmitter
can be damaged. Never connect the flush-
mounted transmitter to 230 V.
2Figure !: Connect the inputs to the make contacts
(one make contact per line pair)
How to install the flush-mounted transmitter
26
Line pairs are:
– red/white-red: Input E1
– green/white-green: Input E2
– brown/white-brown: Input E3
– blue/white-blue: Input E4
Isolate cores which are not required so that no
signals are triggered accidentally.
3Figure §: Plug the wiring harness plug into the
housing socket.
4Insert battery (see section “Inserting or replacing
the battery”).
5Figure $: Check that you have the right connection.
Actuate the attached make contacts (e.g. push-
buttons) in succession. The LEDs (A) ought to light
up each briefly.
|Should you shorten core pairs, do not
accidentally cut off the antenna (grey cable).
27
6Program the flush-mounted transmitter to the push-
button/movement detector with system
administration.
7After programming, execute all of the functions of
each input.
8Figure $: Stow away the antenna (C) (grey cable)
behind/under the flush-mounted transmitter. At the
sametime, maintain the largest possible distance
from metallic parts (retaining ring etc.). This
guarantees the best possible radio transmission.
9For installation in a flush-mounted box: Insert the
flush-mounted transmitter into the flush-mounted
box, screw on the retaining ring, then install the
push-button rocker and frame.
Now the flush-mounted transmitter is ready.
28
|You can analyse and check errors throughout the
radio system with the help of the radio USB data
interface (on a suitable PC) and the Merten
CONNECT radio configuration tool.
The CONNECT radio receiver does not respond or
does not respond correctly when the make contact
is actuated (e.g. pressing the push-button).
– Make sure the maximal range is retained. If
necessary, alter the location of individual devices.
– Check that the battery is fitted correctly in the
transmitter and that it has power.
– Press the first input (or the attached push-button)
three times within around 1.5 seconds. After a few
seconds the flush-mounted transmitter ought to
work normally again.
What should I do if there is a problem?
29
– Set all devices to their factory settings (Reset) and
repeat the programming procedure for all devices
once again.
Resetting the flush-mounted transmitter
to the factory settings (Reset)
Under certain circumstances, it may be necessary to
reset the flush-mounted transmitter (and, as the case
may be, the other devices in the radio system) to their
factory settings and to reconfigure the radio system:
1Press any button three times within about 1.5
seconds. The LED (Figure $A) in the flush-
mounted transmitter flashes.
2Then press and hold the button for around five
seconds until the LED turns off. The flush-mounted
transmitter has been reset to the factory settings.
30
|Caution. When you reset to the factory settings,
all the settings and connections for this
CONNECT device are lost. The radio system may
no longer work and will need to be reconfigured:
see the separate description of the radio system
CONNECT.
