3. Assembly
Unpacking
Unpack all components and check if they are complete referring to the parts list. In case any
components are damaged or missing, please contact your Mammuth retailer.
Mounting the base onto the pickup
WARNING! The pickup crane must be installed on the truck by a specialized person/company.
Wrong installation may cause personal injuries and/or damage to properties/materials.
1. Place the Base (J) on the truck bed where it is to be mounted. This mounting point must be able
to withstand a tensile/tractive force of 2000lbs/900kg.
2. Using a pencil, mark through the mounting holes in the Lift Base (J) to mark drill holes.
3. Using a power drill and appropriate drill bit size, drill holes through truck bed.
4. Secure the base onto the truck bed holes using bolts, nuts, lock washers and flat washers (not
included, use correct size bolt, nut, washers as per the thickness of your truck bed).
Assembling the pickup crane
PAY ATTENTION! During the assembly procedure, nuts and bolts should be hand-tightened only.
Once assembly is complete, nuts and bolts must be fully tightened.
5. Attach the wheel hub (I) and bearing (16) to Turntable (H). Place turntable (H) onto the Base (J)
and secure it with Set screw (18).
6. Place the Main Post (D) onto Turntable (H) and secure it with M12x40 Bolt (15), M12 Nut (14),
Ø12 Flat Washer (2) and Ø12 Lock Washer (3).
7. Attach boom (C) to Main Post (D) using M16x110 Bolt (9), M16 Nut (12), Ø16 Lock Washer (11)
and Ø16 Flat Washer (10).
8. Attach the bottom of Pump Unit (F) to Main Post (D) using M16x90 Bolt (14), M16 Nut (12), Ø12
Lock Washer (11) and Ø12 Flat Washer (10).
9. Connect the Pump Unit plunger to the Boom (C) using M16x80 Bolt (13), M16 Nut (12), Ø16 Lock
Washer (11) and Ø16 Flat Washer (10).
10. Slide the Extension Boom (B) into the Boom (C) and secure it with M14x90 Bolt (5), M14 Nut (8),
Ø14 Lock Washer (7) and Ø14 Flat Washer (6).
11. Now fully tighten all nuts and bolts.
4. Operation
1. Loosen set screw (18) and position the hook (A) above the object to be lifted.
2. Make sure the weight of the load does not exceed the crane’s maximum capacity, keep the
weights indicated on the boom (C) into account and secure the telescopic boom (B) on the
correct weight.
3. Lock the turntable (H) with set screw (18) before lifting.
4. Attach the hook (A) to the load using a hoisting strap or roundsling.
5. Close the valve of the pump (F) and pump the boom (C) up by moving the pump lever (G) up
and down.
6. Now loosen set screw (18) to swerve the crane.
7. When the load is in the desired position lock the turntable (H) with set screw (18).
