With the SATST4950, your mobile assets are in good hands.
This durable IP67 rated Solar powered asset tracker with
optional hardwire harness will add GPS tracking and asset
management to your fleet equipment, passenger vehicles,
off-road vehicles and more. Please ensure you read and un-
derstand all aspects of the manual before installing or using
the M2M in Motion products.

PRIOR TO INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT: There are two ways the SATST4950 device can be used,
and specific instructions listed below on how to turn the Asset
tracker on at the time of the installation.
1) Portable Asset tracker have the capability of using the sun to recharge
the device’s internal battery or the optional Accessory wall charger.
-This installation method will require you to use the PAWN key
provided to turn the device ON at the time of installation* refer to
installation preparation details listed below in Step 1
2) Hardwired permanent mounted option, using the hardwired power
cable to connect to the Asset’s battery to allow recharging of the internal
battery. -This installation method does not require the Pawn key to
turn the device on if you have connected the hardwired cable to
power the device will automatically turn once power is detected to
the SATST4950
Prior to installation, please note the ESN electronic serial number of the
device you are installing it is located on the device. Visit: m2minmotion.
com/getstarted/ to activate the device, Select Activate Asset Tracker-
PART Number SATST4950, enter your device’s information and select
your software plan, A member of M2M in Motion will be in touch to
complete your setup.

The Solar Tracker can be POWERED ON with the provided activation
magnetic pawn key, see below for placement. It is important to note
that the SATST4950 battery in the device should be charged before
installation.
Blue LED means the device is connected to the cellular network- ON
Red - means the device is powered off
The SATST4950 ships with a minimal battery charge. To ensure
uninterrupted operation when first deployed, the device should be
charged for a minimum of 7 hours by the sun light or by using the
optional wall charger accessory or hardwired installation cable provided.
*For pre-charge option using the Hardwired cable connected the RED
wire to + 12-volt battery power, Black wire to the -Ground to chassis
ground.
Connect the RED wire to (+) 12 Volt constant power or directly to the
asset’s battery.
Chassis Ground
Connect the BLACK (-) Input wire to a solid chassis ground uninhibited
by paint or rust. Connect the ground wire directly to the asset’s chassis
and secure the connection with a factory bolt or aftermarket self-tapping
screw.

STEP 4:
MAIN POWER INSTALLATION
After installation, move the asset outside allowing time for the GPS
receiver to receive a good signal from the GPS satellites and confirm the
Blue light is on the Device, Note; Power pawn key is required to check
device status.
Hard Wire Installation (OPTIONAL)
If using the optional hardwire install cable, see the chart below for the
wiring diagram to connect to the power source – 2 wire install (red &
black). If installing device as hard wire installtion, battery life will be
dramatically extended between recharges.

STEP 3:
MAIN POWER INSTALLATION
Mount the device cradle securely to the vehicle or Asset’s chassis using
screws or nut and bolts and add 4 zip-ties to the cradle locks to keep the
device securely in the cradle, Cut off all excess cable ties.
