To avoid short -circuits between t he charge lead, always connect t he charge cable t o
the unit fi rst and only then t o the batt er to be charged or discharged. Reverse t he
sequence when disconnect ing.
Batt ery pack, which consist s of diff erent t ypes of cell (including diff erent manuf act ures)
Batt ery which is already f ully charged or just slightly discharged
Non-rechargeable bat teries (Explosion hazard).
Batt eries that require a diff erent charge technique from NiCd, NiMH, Lilo, LiPo, LiFe or
Pb.
Fault y or damaged bat tery
Bat tery fi tt ed wit h an integral charge circuit or a prot ect ion circuit .
Bat teries inst alled in a device, or which are elect rically linked t o ot her component s.
Bat teries t hat are not expressly st at ed by t he manu facture to be suit able f or the
current s t he charger delivers during the charge process.
Very Important!
The charger is not suitable for the following battery types
Do not connect more tha n one battery pa ck to the cha rge lea d at any one time .
Please bear in mind of checking the following point before
charge operation:
Charging
Did you select t he appropriat e pro gram, which are suitable f or t he t ype of batt ery?
Did you set up adequa te current f or charging or discharging?
Lit hium batt ery pack can be composed wit h parallel and series circuit s mixed. Y ou have
to ch eck the composit ion of t he bat tery pack caref ully bef ore charging
Are all connect ions fi rm and safe, or is t here an int ermit tent contact at any point in t he
circuit ?
A specifi c quantit y of electrical energy is f ed int o the bat tery during charge process.
The charge qu antit y is calculat ed by mult iplying charge current by charge time. The
maximum permissible charge current varies according t o the bat tery t ypes or it s
perf ormance, and can be f ound in t he inf ormat ion provided by t he bat tery manuf acture.
It is only allowed t o charge bat teries at rat es higher t hen t he st andard charge current if
they are expressly st ated t o be capable of quick-charge.
Connect t he bat tery to charge to out put t erminal of t he charger using suit able charge
lead. They are red, posit ive (+) and black, negat ive (-). Since the charger cannot det ect
the diff erence bet ween t he int ernal resist ances of t he bat tery pack, cable resistance
and connect or t ransfer resistance, t he fi rst requirement if t he charger t o work properly
is t hat t he charge lead should be of adequate conduct or cross-sect ion. A nd also high-
qualit y connect ors (normally gold-contact t ype) must be fi tt ed t o both ends.
Refer to t he inf ormation provided by t he bat tery manuf act ure regard ing cha rging
met hods, and verif y t he recommended charge current and charge time. E specially for
Lit hium batt eries, you have to f ollow t he charge inst ruct ion provided by t he
manufacturer strictly.
Do not at tempt t o disassemble t he bat tery pack arbit rarily.
You have t o pay at tent ion to verif y t he capacit y and the volt age of t he Lit hium bat tery
pack. I t may b e composed of parallel and series connection mixed. I n parallel link t he
capacity of the batt ery pack is multiplied by t he number of cells but the volt age remains
the same. That kind of volt age imbalance causes a fi re or explosion during charge
proce ss. We recommend yo u compose t he L it hium bat ter pack in se rie s o nly.
The t ypical purpose of discharge is t o det ermine t he residual capacit y of t he bat tery, or
to lower the vo ltage of bat tery t o a defi ned level. When you discharge t he bat tery you
also have t o pay at tention on t he process same as charging. To avoid t he bat tery
becoming deep-charged, set t he fi nal discharge volt age correct ly. Lit hium b att eries
should not be deep-charged t o lower than t he minimum volt age, as t his leads t o a rapid
loss of capacit y or a tot al f ailure. Generally, you do not need to discharge Lithium
batt ery volunt arily.
Some re chargeable batt eries are said to have a memory effect . I f they are part ly used
and recharged bef ore t he whole charge is drawn out , they remember this and next
time will only use t hat part of t heir capacit y. This is a memory eff ect NiCd and NiMH
batt eries are said t o suff er f rom memory eff ect . They prefer complet e cycles; f ully
charge t hen use unt il empt y, do not recharge bef ore storag e-allow t hem to self -
discharge during st orage. NiMH bat teries have less memory eff ect t han NiCd.
The Lit hium bat tery prefers a part ial rather than a f ull discharge. Frequent f ull
discharges should be avoided if possible. I nst ead, ch arge t he bat tery more oft en or use
a larger bat tery.
The brand-new NiCd bat tery pack is partially useful wit h it s capacit y until it has been
subject ed t o 10 or more charge cyc les in any case. The cyclic proce ss of charge and
discharge will lead t o opt imize t he capacity of batt ery pack.

Those warning and safely notes are particularly important. Please follow the
instructions for a maximum safely; otherwise the charger and the battery can be
damaged violently. And also it can cause a fire to injure a human body or to lose the
property.
