Introduction
Your new waste disposal has been manufactured to the highest
possible standards. It is designed to be simple to operate, and
require minimal maintenance. Operation of the appliance will
depend on the type of installation detailed later in this manual.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us
using the numbers located in the rear of this manual.
Please note that any electrical or plumbing work required to
install this appliance should be carried out only by an
authorised electrician.
The minimum flow rate for this appliance is 4 litres per minute.
PLEASE NOTE:
The consumer must ascertain for themselves that
Food Waste Disposals are permitted by the local
authorities in the area which they live BEFORE
installing this product.
Before using this appliance, please thoroughly
read this manual and understand the correct
procedure for using this appliance.

Installation, Use and Care.

follow the installation instructions ensuring adherence to local
bylaws.
Correct installation is vital in ensuring the product performs to
the best of its ability.
Failure to adhere to these instructions may invalidate your

Product Application
The Ikon Food Waste Disposer is designed to grind excess
food waste into fine particles which are then flushed through
the standard waste attached to the kitchen sink.
Due to the large range of items that can be placed into the
disposal, below is a sample of products that can be placed into
the disposal. The list should be used as a guide only.
Vegetables and vegetable by products
Vegetable roots
Nuts
Fruit
Fruit peels
Egg shell
Coffee grinds
Fish bones
Tea Leaves
Corn cob
Meat
Seeds (Not pips)
PLEASE NOTE:
NEVER PUT SOLID METAL OBJECTS INTO THE
WASTE DISPOSER. THIS INCLUDES CUTLERY,
JEWELERY, SCREWDRIVERS AND OTHER TOOLS.
DOING SO MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PRODUCT,
INVALIDATE YOUR WARRANTY AND MAY CAUSE
PERSONAL INJURY!!!

Important Safety Information
1. This appliance is not intended for use by children or
mentally / physically infirm persons, or those who are lack
of knowledge and/or experience of similar products, unless
under proper supervision by their guardians.
2. DO NOT place fingers inside the appliance!
3. BEFORE servicing the appliance physically disconnect the
power supply.
4. Use only the provided “plate scraper” attached to the sealing
plug of the appliance to clear the grinding chamber or push
product into the appliance. Use no other product for this
purpose. Doing so could result in damage to the appliance,
invalidation of your warranty and/or personal injury.
5. DO NOT use this appliance to dispose of hard materials such
as: Glass, Porcelain, Plastic, Cans, Cups etc. Cutlery or any
metal objects
6. When using the appliance do not leave the sealing plug in
place. Water needs to be flushed through continuously while
the appliance is in use.
7. Do not use hot water in the appliance.
8. Ensure all connections are secure before using the appliance.
9. This appliance must be earthed.
10. If the supply cord is damaged it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified
person in order to avoid a hazard.
11. Always switch off the appliance or remove the plug from the
socket-outlet before attempting to free a jammed rotor with
an implement.
12. Young children should be supervised to ensure they do not
play with the appliance.
13. After this product is installed, the operation switch (not on
product) and the reset button (at the lower position of the
product) must at a position that user can easily access.

Installation
While reading the installation instructions, please also make
reference to the diagram on page 8. Also note that once
installed, the reset button and any reversing switches must be
readily accessible.
1. Separate the hopper from the Mounting Ring by
turning the Mounting Ring in a clockwise direction.
2. Remove the rubber Cushion Mount from the bottom
of the Sink Flange. You will then be able to remove
the Mounting Ring from the Sink Flange.
3. Unscrew the Support Ring from the Sink Flange.
4. Insert the Sink Flange using plumbers putty to
secure and sell the sink flange through the 90mm
hole in your sink.
5. From underneath the sink, slip the Fibre Gasket
onto the Sink Flange. Screw the Support Ring onto
the Sink Flange. Hand tightens the Support Ring
until the Sink Flange will not move.
6. Place the Mounting Ring over the Sink Flange and
install the rubber Cushion Mount (large side down)
so that the groove on the inside of the Cushion
Mount fits over the lip on the Sink Flange. When
installed correctly, the Mounting Ring can be pulled
down over the Cushion Mount and will rotate
freely.
7. Guide the Hopper projections into the slots on the
Mounting Ring, using the Mounting Ears, turn the
Mounting Ring anti-clockwise (right) until the
Mounting Ring locks tightly in place.

8. If your appliance came complete with an IKON Air
Switch, install the control button in your sink top by
using a 33mm chassis punch to punch a hole in the
stainless steel. Place the top of the chrome plated
switch through the hole and hand tighten the nut.
9. Connect the supplied air hose to the base of the
chrome button and attach the other end to the white
fitting on the control box.
Secure the control box to the wall of your kitchen
cabinet using the screw holes provided. The control
box should be mounted as high as possible inside
the cupboard to eliminate any possibility of water
entering the unit in case of a flood or leak.
10. Plug the power cord into the power outlet and turn
on. You are now ready to use your new waste
disposal!
If your unit was not purchased with an Air Switch, OR the Air
Switch was purchased separately, please contact an electrician
to finish the installation of your appliance.

Correct Usage
Operating your Food Waste Disposer could not be easier:
1. Turn on the cold tap. (Flow rate should be a minimum
of 4L per minute)
2. Turn on the appliance.
3. Place product to be disposed of into the appliance, use
the provided plug to assist in pushing the scraps into the
appliance if necessary. (NEVER use your hands or
other items to push food into the waste disposal. Only
use the tools provided with the appliance.)
4. Once the food scraps have disappeared continue
operating the appliance for approximately 20 seconds.
5. Switch off the power and water.
