OVERVIEW
Hawke’s Laser Range Finders are designed to deliver
highly accurate distance measurements with the press
of a button. They are ergonomically constructed to fit
comfortably in your hand with easy access to both of the
control buttons.
The Hawke Frontier LRF binoculars use high light
transmission optics and a red coloured OLED display to
make the view to your target clearer than ever before.
Its range finding capabilities include: Distance, Rain,
Hunt, Near, Horizontal Distance and Angle modes. The
display brightness can be manually adjusted between 6
levels of brightness. The LRF requires a 3V CR2 battery
and will automatically turn off after 15 seconds of no
operation to save power.
The LRF has been manufactured with an eye safe CE
approved laser and can be used in shooting, archery,
golf, construction, site survey and many other tasks.
WARNING
Looking directly at the sun can cause permanent eye
damage. Do not look directly at the sun, either with this
product or the naked eye.
BATTERY
INSTALLATION
The LRF requires a 3V CR2 battery. Unscrew the battery
cover on the underside of the hinge. Insert the battery
positive end first and then screw the battery cover back
in place.
Turn the LRF on by pressing the POWER button, the
screen display will turn on in the right eyepiece if the
battery is inserted correctly and has sufficient power.

FOCUSING YOUR
BINOCULAR
1. Look through the binoculars at a blank, flatly lit,
bright area such as a wall or open sky.
2. Quick press the POWER button.
3. Rotate the (Right) OLED focus adjuster until the
OLED display appears sharp.
4. Look through the binoculars at an image such
as a building or tree.
5. Cover the left front lens with your hand and rotate
the focusing wheel until the image in the right
eyepiece appears sharp.
6. Now cover the right front lens with your hand
and rotate the (Left) diopter adjuster until the
image is sharp.
7. The binoculars have now been adjusted to your eyes.
LRF OPERATION
Quick press the POWER button. When turned on, the
range finder will start in the same mode it was in when
last used. To cycle through the modes simply press the
MODE button until you come to the setting you desire.
Quick press the POWER button to range find the target
you are aiming at. The diagonal lines around the center
aimpoint flash to confirm rangefinding.
The laser range finder will automatically turn off when
not used for 15 seconds.
STANDARD MODE
Standard mode measures the straight line distance to the
target you are aiming at. It is measured to the nearest
tenth of a yard/metre.
When there is nothing displayed in the targeting modes
area of the display (to the right or underneath the
distance), you are in Standard mode.

6
If you hold the POWER button while in Standard mode
the range finder will continuously scan so you can move
around and get constant updates of the distance.
NEAR MODE
Near mode measures the straight line distance by
actively searching for a flag pole, or similar, that is sitting
in the foreground. When Near mode is triggered the
flag icon will have a circle around it.
HUNT MODE
Hunt mode measures the straight line distance to the
target, but ignores any interference from long grass or
brush that stands between you and the target, ideal for
measuring the distance to a deer that’s walking through
long grass or woodland. When Hunt mode is triggered
the Hunt mode icon will have a circle around it. When
rangefinding in Hunt mode, the Horizontal Distance will
also be shown on the lower distance readout line.
RAIN MODE
Rain mode measures the straight line distance to
the target, but ignores any interference from falling
raindrops. The target distance must be more than 30m
/ 33yds away. When rangefinding in Rain mode, the
Horizontal Distance will also be shown on the lower
distance readout line.
HORIZONTAL
DISTANCE “HD” MODE
HD mode measures the horizontal distance to the target.
The straight line distance is shown on the upper distance
readout and the HD component is shown on the lower
distance readout. This is especially useful for measuring
the bullet compensated distance to a target.

7English / USA
If shooting at high angles in the mountains, firing rifles
that have fast dropping bullet trajectories, or shooting
bows from a tree stand, HD mode gives a more realistic
distance for use when calculating holdover aimpoints.
If you hold the POWER button while in HD mode
the range finder will continuously scan so you can
move around and get constant updates of the
horizontal distance.
ANGLE MODE
Angle mode measures the angle of projection. It is
measured to the nearest tenth of a degree. The straight
line distance is shown on the upper distance readout and
the angle measurement is shown on the lower distance
readout. When aiming downhill a minus symbol will
appear to the left of the angle display.
BRIGHTNESS MODE
It is possible to select the brightness of the OLED display.
There are 6 brightness levels to choose from, 1-6.
Brightness mode is selected when all display icons show
at the same time. The brightness level is displayed on the
upper distance readout line. Press the POWER button to
cycle through the brightness levels. The brightness setting
is saved for next use until the battery is removed.
UNITS OF
MEASUREMENT
The laser range finder can measure in meters or yards.
To change between the two settings hold the MODE
button for 3 seconds. M = metres, Y = yards.

ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION
The quality of the measurements strongly depends on the
structure of the object, the weather and visibility conditions.
The more straight the laser beam strikes an object, the
greater distances can be measured.
The LRF should only be repaired by a qualified
professional. Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the
LRF as this will invalidate the warranty. Do not hold the
POWER and MODE buttons together. Always insert the
battery “+” side first.
When cleaning the lens, only use the cloth supplied
or a soft, lint free cloth. Inspect the battery regularly for
any signs of degradation and replace if necessary.
Remove the battery if the LRF is not in use for long periods
of time. Always store the LRF in a cool and dry environment.
Keep the LRF in its carry case when not in use.
