USING YOUR APPLIANCE

USING YOUR COFFEE MAKER:

1. Open the top cover and fill the water tank with cold water.

2. Place the funnel into the holder and the nylon filter into the funnel.

3. Add your ground coffee into the nylon filter. Usually to brew one cup of coffee, you

need 1 level teaspoon of ground coffee - but you can adjust to personal taste. Then

close the top cover.

4. Insert the carafe with the lid closed onto the base of the coffee maker. Ensure the

centre line of the carafe aligns with the funnel.

5. Plug the coffee makers power cord into a power outlet.

6. Press the ON/OFF switch down, the indicator will illuminate, and the coffee maker

will begin working.

7. When your coffee has completed brewing, leave for up to 1 minute, to allow the

coffee to fully stop dripping. You can then remove the carafe, pour and serve.

8. When brewing has finished, if you do not want to serve immediately, keep the switch

on, the coffee can be kept warm on the warming plate for 40 minutes. After 40

minutes the coffee maker will shut-off automatically.

9. Always turn the coffee maker off and disconnect from the power supply after use.

PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT exceed the max level as indicated when filling the water

tank. This coffee maker can only brew max. 12 cups of coffee every brewing cycle.

PLEASE NOTE: During the brewing process you may only remove the carafe to

serve, after 1 minute has passed to allow brewing cycle to complete fully and stop

dripping.

CAUTION: DO NOT touch top cover, warming plate and any other parts

when in use or just brewed, as you risk burning. Only use handles and

knobs.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Always disconnect the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool down

completely before cleaning.

1. Never immerse the unit or power cord in water - or any other liquid.

2. Clean all detachable parts after each use in hot, sudsy water.

3. Wipe the exterior and warming plate with a clean, damp cloth - NEVER use an

abrasive or poisonous cleaner.

4. Water droplets may build up in the area above the funnel and drip onto the base

during brewing. To control the dripping, wipe the area with a clean, dry cloth after

each use.

5. Re-insert all detachable parts and keep for next use.

To keep your coffee maker operating efficiently, you should clean away the mineral

deposits left by the water. This will vary depending on water quality and how often you

use this appliance.

We recommend de-scaling your coffee maker using the following steps below:

1. Add 30 ml (2 tablespoons) of white vinegar in the carafe, then fill to maximum level

on water gauge with cold water.

2. Insert carafe onto the warming plate.

3. Ensure the funnel is assembled in place.

4. Switch on the coffee maker and allow it to brew the de-scaling solution.

5. After brewing has completed, switch off the appliance.

6. Leave the solution for 15 minutes and repeat steps 3-5.

7. Finally rinse the solution thoroughly with clean water at least 3 times.

HINTS & TIPS

1. A clean coffee maker is essential for making great tasting coffee. Regularly clean the

coffee maker as specified in the cleaning and maintenance section.

2. Always use fresh, cold water in your coffee maker.

3. After opening a packet of ground coffee, reseal tightly or store in an airtight

container and store in a cool, dry place.

4. Do not reuse ground coffee powder since this will greatly reduce the coffee flavour

and intensity.

5. Reheating coffee is not recommended as coffee is at its peak flavour immediately

after brewing.

6. Clean the coffee maker when over-extraction causes oiliness. Small oil droplets on

the surface of brewed, black coffee are due to the extraction of oil from the ground

coffee.

7. Oiliness may occur more frequently if heavily roasted coffees are used.
