Glossary
Arm This is to set your system into Armed Mode. This means that if
a zone is vio ated, an a arm condition wi be activated and
your monitoring company (if app icab e) wi be notified.
Bypassed This means that a zone is deactivated. When the system is
armed and a bypassed zone is vio ated, it wi be ignored by
the system.
Chime Zone This is a zone which wi cause the keypad to beep when it is
vio ated and the system is unarmed.
Entry/Exit This is the zone that you wi use to enter or exit your premises
once you have armed your a arm. This wi have an entry/exit
de ay that wi give you time to enter or exit before the system
is armed or an a arm is triggered.
Fo ower
Zone
When the system is armed, this zone can be vio ated after the
entry/exit zone during the entry/exit de ay without causing an
a arm. This wi be the zones you need to go through to access
your keypad.
Home Arm This is when you use your Home 1 or Home 2 profi e to arm
your premises. This is used when someone is sti inside. In
this mode you can vio ate your Home Zones without causing
an a arm.
Home Zones These zones are automatica y bypassed when your Home 1 or
Home 2 profi e is active.
Partition A group of zones which can be armed or disarmed together.
For examp e, you may have one partition which inc udes the
zones in Bui ding 1, and another partition that covers the zones
in Bui ding 2.
Warning
Zone
When armed in Home1 or Home2, a warning zone wi beep
when vio ated. You wi then have a set time to enter a va id
user code before the a arm is activated.
Zone This is an area of your premises which is monitored by sensors
or detectors.

1 Introduction to the mi64
We come to the mi64, a state of the art a arm pane designed with the security of
you, your fami y and business in mind. P ease fo ow the instructions contained
within this manua to ensure troub e free operation.
Your system is made up of the mi64 contro pane , one or more keypads, sensors
and detectors. You mi64 contro pane is contained within a p astic casing- and
shou d on y be opened by the insta er or a service professiona . Anything you
need to view, or change about your system can be done from the keypad.
Be ow are a few he pfu notes to ensure that your mi64 is used proper y:
Before operation p ease read this manua carefu y and keep it in an
accessib e p ace.
The mi65 shou d on y be insta ed and serviced by a qua ified professiona .
They wi instruct you on how to use the system and the protection that it
provides.
Your system shou d be tested regu ar y. Before you test the system notify
your monitoring company.
DO NOT disconnect the mains power. The backup battery is not designed to
be a permanent power source, so wi discharge and your mi64 wi
shutdown.
The mi64 cannot prevent emergencies. Its function is to a ert you and your
monitoring company of an emergency situation.
Fire and heat sensors may not detect a fire situations, so p ease take
sensib e precautions.

2 Understanding your Keypad
The operation of your security system is contro ed by the keypad/s. To ensure
correct operation it is vita that you fami iarise yourse f with the correct use of
the keypad.
By defau t a keypads can view, arm and disarm a partitions. Check with your
insta er to see how your system has been insta ed.

2 1 Understanding the keypad indicators
For the ocation of the indicators p ease see Figure 1: The Keypad.
Power Indicator
Green Mains power is connected to the pane and is functioning correct y.
There are no fau t conditions.
Red A fau t condition has occurred. This cou d be oss of mains power, ow
battery or other system fau t. Refer to section 12.1 for troub eshooting.
Home 1 and Home 2 Indicators
Green You are viewing the profi e that is i uminated green and the zone
indicators wi show the status of the zones in this profi e.
F ashing
Orange
The home profi e is in entry/exit de ay mode, and wi short y arm.
Red The system in armed in the Home 1 or Home 2 profi e.
Partition (P) Indicators
Bright
Green
This is the active partition and it is ready to arm. The zone
indicators for the zones be onging to this partition wi be
disp aying their status.
Dim
Green
The partition is avai ab e, but is not the active partition you are
viewing. To view this partition, touch the [P] key and it wi turn
bright green.
Orange Not ready to arm. A zone is vio ated.
Red The partition is armed.
F ashing
Orange
This partition is in entry/exit de ay mode, and wi short y arm.

F ashing Vio ated zone.
I uminated The zone is bypassed.
By defau t LEDs 1-16 disp ay zones 1-16- however this may be programmed
per partition. P ease speak to your insta er to see how they have set up your
zone indicators.
2 2 Operating the Keypad
The function of your keypad:

The keypad is used to send commands to the mi64 and to disp ay the status
of the system.
The keypad has a buzzer, indicator LEDs, and entry command keys.
The keypad/s wi have been mounted within your premises, usua y in your
entry/exit zones.
Your keypads are programmed to ‘s eep’ after a period of inactivity. The
LEDs wi extinguish, except the power and partition LEDS. To ‘wake up
your keypad’ touch any key. The period of inactivity is programmab e and
may be turned off.
At night your keypad wi sense the ow ight eve s and provide back ights
for easy use. In addition, a the LEDs wi be dimmed.
If there is a vio ation of a sensor or detector in armed mode, the
corresponding zone indictor wi f ash and the keypad wi beep unti the
fau t is c eared.
To mute your keypad, apart from the keytouch tones, ho d [ALT] key unti
you get a ong beep, and then touch [MEDICAL] once. Repeat to unmute.
2 2 1 Keypad Beeps
Your keypad wi beep when:
When you touch any of the keys (short beep)
When you arm the pane ( ong beep)
When a zone is vio ated when armed (continuous beep, unti [#] is touched
or system is disarmed)
When an error is entered on the keypad (three beeps)
When a fau t condition, such as AC fai or ow battery, has occurred (doub e
beep with a pause). This beep wi on y sound if the insta er has turned
enab ed the disp ay of the fau t conditions.
3 Your system information
P ease check with your qua ified insta er which of the functions have been
enab ed for your system.

3 1 User Codes
Your mi64 a ows you to have different user profi es. This means that each user
can have different permissions assigned to them. A Master User can add
additiona users, and arm/disarm the entire system, whereas a Norma User can
on y arm/disarm the partitions that they are assigned to. For examp e; you can
provide an emp oyee with a code that disarms/arms the outside beams, but they
have no contro over interna partitions. For more information about user codes
see section 10.
Your insta er shou d record the user detai s be ow. Keep this somewhere secure,
away from your keypads.
