Safety Instructions
Please read these instructions fully before operating this product and keep
for future reference.
Warning: When using electric appliances, basic safety precautions, including the follow-
ing, should always be followed to reduce the risk of re, electric shock and personal injury.
For safe operation:
1. Do not expose to rain.
2. Do not use in damp or wet locations.
3. Keep work area well lit
4. Do not use where there is risk of re or explosion. For example: in the presence of explo-
sive dusts, liquids or vapours such as high concentrations of saw dust, grains or petrol fumes.
5. Never use to pick up harmful substances such as asbestos dust.
6. Do not pick up anything that is hot, burning or smouldering, such as cigarette or re ash.

8. Always unplug the appliance when leaving unattended and when servicing
9. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physi-
cal, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have
been supervised or instructed in use by a person responsible for their safety.
10. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
11. Never carry the tool by the cord or yank it to disconnect from the socket.
12. Keep the cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges.
13. Do not overreach and keep proper footing and balance at all times.
14. Repairs should only be carried out by qualied persons, using original spare parts.
15. If the motor becomes louder check that the hoses, accessories or lter are not blocked.
16. Empty the dust tank and clean the lters regularly. Always check they are present and
installed correctly.
17. Only use manufacturers’recommended spares and accessories.

Operating Instructions
1. Unpacking
In the unlikely event that the appliance is damaged or parts are missing do not connect to
the mains supply. Contact Exakt Precision Tools Ltd. for advice.
The smaller accessories are packed inside the dust tank and must be removed before use.
2. Usage
Note: Power Take-o socket is live when the appliance is plugged in, regardless of switch
position (I, II or 0).
This appliance can be used as a vacuum cleaner or a dust extractor for connecting to hand-
held power tools.
3. Vacuum Cleaning
Do not use for sucking liquids
Follow the instructions in Section 5 to ensure that lters are clean before use!
a. Fit one end of the exible hose into the aperture on the motor unit. (Fig. 1)
b. Fit accessories as required to the other end of the hose. (Fig. 2, 3, 4, 9)
c. When using the oor nozzle on hard surfaces press the switch to lower the brush head
(Fig. 8)
d. Unwind the mains lead and plug in. (Fig. 5)
e. Press the switch to the“I”position to use. (Fig. 6)
f. The shoulder strap can be clipped to the raised lugs on the appliance if required. The
shoulder strap can then be placed on the operators shoulder. The strap should not be placed
over the head, on the opposite shoulder. (Fig. 14)
4. Dust Extraction
a. When using as a portable power tool dust extractor, rst read the instructions for the
power tool to ensure safe operation.
b. Check the power tool is rated at 2200W or less.
c. Ensure the lters are clean by following the instructions in Section 5. Fit the exible hose to
the motor unit (Fig. 1)
d. If using with an Exakt power tool, attach the Exakt Tool Adapter. (Fig. 10)
e. Take the dust hose or vacuum attachment supplied with the Exakt tool and attach it to the
Tool Adapter. (Fig. 11)
f. If using with a dierent type of power tool nd whether the power tool adapter ts the
tool. If so, connect the power tool dust hose to the adapter and the tool.
g. If the adapter does not t the power tool it may be necessary to improvise a system.
i.e. Using plastic tube such as drain pipe or converting a plastic drain tting.

h. Plug the power tool into the socket on the appliance (Fig. 12) and unwind the cable and
plug the appliance into the mains. (Fig. 5)
i. Switch the appliance on to position“II”. (Fig. 13)
j. When the power tool is switched on the vacuum will switch on automatically.
k. When the power tool is switched o there is a short delay before the appliance switches
o. This delay allows remaining dust to be cleared from the power tool and hose.
5. Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning is essential for the safe operation of the appliance. Ensure the
pre-lter is clear of excess dust before each use.
Care must be taken not to inhale dust while emptying and cleaning the appliance.
The pre-lter is a consumable item and should be replaced if it becomes damaged or worn.
a. Unplug from mains supply. (Fig. 5)
b. Unclip the dust-collection bin retaining clips and lift o the motor unit. (Fig. 15, 16)
c. Safely dispose of the contents of the dust-collection bin.
d. Remove the pre-lter and gently beat the dust from it. This item can be hand washed in
water if excessively soiled. Ensure it is properly dried before re-tting.
e. Unclip the HEPA lter and clean by blowing or brushing. Ensure that it is clear of dust
internally before re-tting. (Fig. 17, 18)
f. Brush out the dust tank and brush the underside of the motor housing before re-assembly.
6. Troubleshooting
Warning; If a problem occurs switch o and unplug the appliance immediately.
Motor does not start:
• Try connecting to a socket that is known to work.
• Ensure switch is set to the correct position.
• If temperature cutout has operated, wait 20 minutes for it to reset.
Motor switches on but power is reduced, or motor is excessively noisy:
• Follow the procedure in section 5 for emptying and cleaning.
• Ensure none of the hoses or accessories are blocked.
7. Maintenance
The appliance is oiled for life.
Except for cleaning the lters, there are no user serviceable parts inside.
If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has to be done by the manufacturer
or his service agent in order to avoid a safety hazard.
