Eden Quality Binoculars
Instructions for use
Warning
Never look directly at the sun as this can seriously
harm your eyes.
Preparing the binoculars for use
Step 1: Adjusting the eye cups
The eye cups (A) ensure that your eyes will be
at the correct distance from the ocular lenses.
People who wear glasses need to turn the eye cups
inwards and those who do not wear glasses should
turn the eyecups outwards.
If the distance between your eyes and the ocular
lenses is not optimal, you will not see the entire field
of view correctly and you will find it more difficult to
adjust the interpupillary distance.
Step 2: Adjusting the interpupillary distance
The distance between both pupils varies from per-
son to person. To adjust this interpupillary distance,
simply turn the two halves of the binoculars inwards
or outwards (D) until a single perfect circle appears.
This means that you should not see dark patches
or crescents on the edges or in the middle of the
image. If you look through the binoculars alternately
with both eyes without moving the binoculars, you
should see a complete, round image with both eyes.
In order to adjust the interpupillary distance prop-
erly, you need to focus on an object reasonably far
away. This makes it easier to find the right setting.

Step 3: Adjusting dioptric correction, ED Binoculars
The dioptre correction is used to adjust the differ-
ence in the visual acuity of a person’s eyes. For in-
stance, if your left eye has a strength of –2 and your
right eye a strength of –4, the dioptre correction will
compensate for these differences.
To adjust the dioptre, look through the ocular lenses,
close your right eye and focus your left eye on a
distant object. Turn the centre focus wheel (B) until
the targeted object is in sharp focus.
Now close your left eye and use the dioptric adjust-
ment ring (C) to focus your right eye. The dioptric
adjustment ring is located behind the left ocular
lens.
Once you have adjusted the dioptric setting, you
should not need to change it again.
Step 3: Adjusting dioptric correction, HD Binoculars
The dioptre correction is used to adjust the differ-
ence in the visual acuity of a person’s eyes. For in-
stance, if your left eye has a strength of –2 and your
right eye a strength of –4, the dioptre correction will
compensate for these differences.
To adjust the dioptre, first ‘unlock’ the dioptric ad-
justment ring (C). The adjustment ring is lubricated
with special grease that hardens after a period of
time. This ensures that the ring cannot turn inap-
propriately. To loosen the ring and allow it to turn
smoothly, simply apply a little more force when
turning the ring.
To adjust the dioptre, look through the ocular
lenses, close your right eye and focus your left eye
on a distant object. Turn the centre focus wheel (B)

until the targeted object is in sharp focus.
Now close your left eye and use the dioptric adjust-
ment ring (C) to focus your right eye. The dioptric
adjustment ring is located behind the right ocular
lens.
Once you have adjusted the dioptric setting, you
should not need to change it again.
Step 4: Adjusting the focus
Only use the centre focus wheel (B) to adjust the
focus for other distances.
Maintenance
-Remove dirt, dust and oils from the lenses with the
soft, non-abrasive cloth provided.
-If there is any sand or grit on the lenses, first use a
soft brush to carefully remove this before cleaning
with the soft cloth.
-To clean glasses and lenses, use special cleaning
fluid to remove fingerprints and other oily sub-
stances from the surfaces.
-Store the binoculars in the carry case and use the
lense caps provided.
-It is advisable to keep your binoculars away from
low temperatures as this will cause the (exterior
part of the) binoculars to fog up as soon as you
use them and the moving parts may freeze. In cold
temperatures, it is advisable to keep the binocu-
lars under your coat so that they remain at body
temperature.
-Never open the binoculars!
-Do not drop the binoculars. A heavy jolt or impact
could cause internal damage, which is not covered
by the warranty.
Warranty
KATO Internet Sales ltd. guarantees that these Eden
Quality Binoculars are free from defects in materials
and workmanship.
Should any defect occur resulting from a material
or manufacturing fault within a period of 25 years
following purchase, then we will either repair the
binoculars or replace them free of charge.
This warranty does not apply to the carry case and
shoulder strap, since these articles are prone to
wear and tear.

Eden Quality Ferngläser
Bedienungsanleitung Modell ED und HD
Vorsicht!
Fernglas einstellen
1. Einstellung der Augenmuscheln
Mit den Augenmuscheln (A) kann die richtige
Entfernung zwischen Auge und Fernglas eingestellt
werden. Nicht-Brillenträger drehen beide Augen-
muscheln heraus. Brillenträger drehen beide Au-
genmuscheln hinein. Sollte der Abstand zwischen
Auge und Fernglas nicht optimal eingestellt sein,
kann das optimale Sehfeld des Fernglases nicht
genutzt werden und erfordert die Einstellung der
Pupillendistanz mehr Zeit und Mühe.

A
