Do not use without dirt container and filters in place.

Turn off all controls before unplugging.

Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.

Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use inareas where they may be present.

Keep the vaculim cleaner on the floor. Only the hand-held vacuum cleaners may be set on furniture.

Cleaner must be in the upright position to lift the rotating brush off the carpet when doing above floor cleaning.

Do not use an extension cord with this vacuum cleaner.

Store the vacuum cleaner indoors. Put the vacuum cleaner away after use to prevent tripping accidents.

Using improper voltage may result in damage to the motor and possible injury to the user. Proper voltage is listed onthe

cleaner plate.

ASSEMBLE

TOOL REQUIRED: PHILLIPSSCREWDRIVER

Stand unit in upright positionand placeupper handle onto upright(Diagram

1).

Push upper handle onto upright, aligning upper handle with handleopening (Diagram

2).

screws (supplied) enterfrom top of uprightto secure handle (Diagram 3).

AlTACH HOSE:

Attach the flexiblehose to the cleaner (Diagram 1). Match the arrows on the hose to the tabs on the clear hose inlet

(Diagram la). Push down firmly on the cuff and turn clockwise. Insert the hose handle intothe side of the cleaner. Press down firmlyto

secure (Diagram2).

ATTACH TOOLS:

OPERATE

Usethe window on the nozzleto see if the brushrill is moving.

As you switch to different carpet piles, move the heightadjust knob to match the surface being cleaned (Diagram 3).

The edge bristles (Diagram

4),

provideeffectivebaseboardcleaning.

Depressing handle release a second time while in use will lower cleaner to lie flat, allowingto clean under furniture.

NOTE:

Rotatingbrushcouldcausearea rugfringe to becometangledwithin cleaner. Usecaution when vacuuming throw rugs with fringe.

BAREFLOOR AND ABOVE FLOOR CLEANING -TURN BRUSHROLLOFF

Turn brushrolloff.

NOTE:

Cleanermustbe "on" when activatina/deactivatina brushroll.

*STRETCH HOSE

AND

HOSE ANCHOR:

The HoseAnchor is usedto prevent the vacuum from tipping while usingthe above

floor cleaningattachments. Removethe stretchhosefrom sideof the cleaner usingthe handle. Lay hose overthe back of cleaner (Diagram

1) andsecure hose anchor ring (Diagram2a). locatedaroundhoseto base. Pull hosefrom hosehandlefor additionallength (Diagram2b)-

TELESCOPlCWAND:

Removewand from side of cleaner by pulling out at the top to unsnap and pull up (Diagram

3).

Twist

and pull wand apart for extra length, as describedon wand. Twist again to lock.

CARPET SETTINGS

Move lever to adjust heightof nozzleto match the surface being cleaned (Diagram 4). If cleaner is difficult to push, adjust to

higher

carpet setting.

HOWTO TRANSPORT CLEANER

Usethe carrying handle on the back of the cleaner to move cleaner from room to room (Diagram

5).

NOTE: Donotpushorpullcleaner forward while inthe upriahtpositionleaningonbackcasters.

Clean DIRT CONTAINER:

Depress latchto removedirt container from cleaner (Diagram 1). Pull dirt container out to empty (Diagram 2).

Removeand clean the PERMA FILTERmwithCleanstream" Filtration(see instructionsbelow).

Use a sponge and lukewarmwater to wipe dirt container compartment clean.

4. Replace Dirt Container: Set aligning tab on bottom of dirt container into rectangular slot on the cleaner, and push to snap intoplace

(Diagram

3).

If dirt containerdoes notsnap into place, check to make surethe filter issecured properly.

2. Regular Maintenance*:Eachtime the dirt container is emptied, the filter shouldbecleaned. Gentlytap the filter firmly againstthe

inside of atrash can until dirt stopsfalling from the filter. (Filterwill be discoloredafter use, thiswill not affect the filter's performance.)

power or suction. If this happens, inspectthe cleaner for clogs, empty the dirt cup and remove all dust and debrisfrom the filter. Once

4. Replacethe PERMA FILTERmwith

Filtration:Align angle of filter with angle of dirt container (gasketfacing up). Push

down onfilterto snap intoplaceand preventdirt leakage. Returndirt cup to cleaner.

The cleaninginstructionsmay vary depending on the dirt conditions.Insome cases, more or lesscleaningof the PERMA FILTER@with

CleanStreamTMFiltrationmay be required.

BELT OR BRUSH REMOVAL

REPLACEMENT

TOOL REQUIRED: PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER

BELT STYLE:

WARNING:

TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY FROM MOVING PARTS

UNPLUG CLEANER BEFORE CHANGING BELT OR

BRUSHROLL.

1. Your cleaner is equippedwith a rear belt and front belt (Diagram 1).

2. To determine which belt needsto be replaced, remove side of nozzle cover that containsthe handle releasepedal. Flip cleaner

over to expose nozzlebase. Usea phillipsscrewdriverto remove the nozzlecover screw located behindthe caster (Diagram2).

3. Flipthe cleaner so it is rightside up. Remove nozzlecover (Diagram 3).

TO REMOVE AND REPLACE REAR BELT:

NOTE:

Thefrontbelt must be removed from the small pulley before replacing the rear belt.

1. Removeand discardold belt. Slide the front belt off the small pulley (Diagram

4).

2. Loop rear belt around large pulley, then slide the belt onto the motor shaft, making sure belt is properly locatedon pulley and

alignedbetween the metal belt guide clips (Diagram5). Returnfront beltto small pulley (Diagram 4).

IMPORTANT:

ROTATE BRUSHROLLMANUALLYTO MAKE SURE BELT IS NOTTWISTEDAND IS PROPERLYALIGNED.

TO REMOVE AND REPLACE FRONT BELT OR BRUSHROLL:

1. Flipcleaner to expose nozzlebase. Use Phillipsscrewdriver to remove the five nozzle guard screws (Diagram6).

2. Remove nozzle guard (Diagram

7).

3. Liftand remove brushroll(Diagram

8).

4. Flipthe cleaner rightside up and discardof old belt.

5. Slidethe new front belt over the small pulley (Diagram4).

6. Guide beltthru the hole toward the brushrollarea. Then flip cleaner over.

Slide the belt over the brushrollonto the area without bristles(Diagram 9a).

Replace brushrollinto nozzle pocket (Diagram 9).

IMPORTANT:

ROTATE BRUSHROLL MANUALLYTO MAKE SURE BELT IS NOT TWISTEDAND IS PROPERLYALIGNED.

9. Reattachnozzleguard (Diagram

7).

10.Secure by replacingthe five nozzle guard screws (Diagram 6).

11. Reattach nozzlecover. Secureby replacingthe screw underthe nozzlebase.

BELT STORAGE

Stretch belt aroundtop two hooks on back panel (See Pg. 4, Figure2 for belt storage location).

FlLTER REMOVAL

REPLACEMENT unplug cleaner before changingfilter.

This uprightcontainstwo filters: HEPAfilter (side of cleaner) and PERMA FILTER" with CleanStreammFiltration(indirt container)which combined pre-

vent dust and allergens from escapingthe vacuum and re-enteringthe air.

The HEPA Filter should be replacedannually. Write date of filter replacement on label.

1. Grasp tab locatedat the top of the HEPAfilter cover and pullaway from the cleaner (Diagram 1).

2. Grasp HEPA filter Cartridgeand pull out (Diagram 2). IMPORTANT: Do NOT clean with water.

3. For HEPA filter replacementscall 1-800-321-1134(USA

Canada).

To Replace:

Lay HEPA filter incover with gasket facing up. Closethe cover by pushingitfirmly until it snaps intoplace (Diagram

3).

NOTE:

If filter cover is knocked

off,

replace by aligining the bottom tabs and snapping intoplace.

LIGHTBULB REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT

TOOL REQUIRED: FLATHEAD SCREWDRIVER

WARNING:

UNPLUGCLEANER BEFORE REMOVINGOR REPLACINGLIGHTBULB.

Thiscleaner usesa commonautomotivelamp#906,13.0volts. Forbulbreplacementcall 1-800-321-1134or your localautopartsstore.

1. Lean cleaner handle back. Insert end of standard (flat head) screwdriver into side slot and pry outward to pop headlight lens out

(Diagram 1).

2. Pullbulbout of socket to remove. Push bulb into socket to replace (Diagram 2).

3. Snap headlight lens panel back into place.
