INTRODUCTION
The Model 680isaprogrammable,announce-only,
telephoneansweringmachinethatusesdigital technol-
ogy
to
store and play messages. The Model 680 can
answer calls from, and play announce messages to,
threetelephonelinessimultaneously.Theunithasthree
modular plugs for the telephone lineconnections.
Since the unit is programmable, you can tell it
exactly when
to
answer calls. The program modes,
there are four, let you pick the days, times, and an-
nouncements you want to use. You can record your
announcements, up
to
four, with the unit's hand mi-
crophone.
The Model 680 also has three external jacks. You
canconnectacasssetterecorder,externalmusicsource
or a
PBX
sytem to thesejacks. If you have acassette
recorder,you cancreateyourmessageswiththerecorder
and then transfer them to the Model 680. You can also
saveyourModel680messages by transferring them
to
acassette. If yourecordmusicwith theModel680,you
can use you unit
as
a
Music-on-hold source for a
PBX
system. (The
PBX
must have a music-on-hold recep-
tacle.)
TheModel680doesnot usecassettetapesforstoring
announcements.Instead,itusesinternalmemory,RAM,
as the storage medium. The unit can record up
to
64
secondsworth of announcements. You can expand the
record time to 128, 192, or 320 seconds by adding
optional memory modules.
The unit also incorporates a digital display. The
display performs a variety of functions.In addition to
showingthecurrentdayandtime,thedisplayalsoshows
the status of each programming mode, the number of
calls received for each line, the correct audio level
during record, the number of times a message will
replay, and the number of rings the unit will answer a
callon. The unit uses
a
24-hourformat

to 23:59)
