INTENDED USE
The DARCO®PW PegAssist™Insole System features
a multi-indication removable-peg chassis that
effectively off-loads the plantar aspect of the foot
after surgery or when wounds are present.
CAUTIONS
• Use of this product is limited to single-patient use,
under order of a physician or licensed medical
professional. If you experience additional pain,
swelling or skin irritation, discontinue use and
contact your physician immediately.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
NOTE: A sock should be worn with
this insole
1. Separate walker boot straps
and open the liner.
2. Insert the PW PegAssist™
Insole into the shoe with the
gray peg side facing down.
Ensure the insole is pushed
all the way back and seated
firmly against the footbed and
heel.
3. Place a transparent barrier
or dressing over the wound
area. With
the barrier in
place, circle
the wound
or ulcer on
the patient
foot with
the supplied
marker.
4. Have the patient step onto the
insole which will transfer the
marking onto the top surface of
the insole. Remove barrier.
5. Remove the insole from the
walker. Remove pegs beneath
the marking
to create
the off-
loading area.
IMPORTANT:
Remove the
pegs slowly
to avoid tearing the top layer of
PORON®material.
6. Remove the adhesive backing
from the stabilizer board that is
included in the kit.
7. Align and attach the adhesive
side of the stabilizer board
to the gray peg side of the
insole.
8. Insert the PW PegAssist™
Insole back into the walker at
a downward angle. Ensure
the stabilizer board is
facing down, blue side up.
Push all the
way back
so the heel
of the insole
meets the
heel of the
walker. Press
the insole
down to secure into the liner.
9. Insert foot and leg into walker
and secure as per walker
manufacturer instructions.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Hand wash, lukewarm water, mild
detergent. Air dry.
