Lock indicator

Slide the battery lid.

Insert two AAbatteries

according to the polarity

direction as follow

Snap down the lidof compartment.

When the sound becomesweak and distorted, please

reduce the volumeor replace thebatteries with new ones.

Replace the batteriesimmediately to prevent memories

losing after the unitturns off.

BATTERY OPERATION

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

Turn off theunit, then replace thebatteries with fresh ones

within 3 minutes.

Do not mix different types together(Alkaline, Carbon-

Zinc, Nickel Cadmium etc.), or old batteries with new

ones.

When the unit isnot being used fora long period oftime,

remove the batteriesto avoid damage frombattery

leakage and corrosion.

If replacement time laststoo long, memories willribelost and

clock reset to0 00.

AC ADAPT OPERATION

Plug the adaptor intoan AC poweroutlet.

Insert the adaptor's smallconnector plug into theDC JACK

marked on the unit(on the right sideof the unit).

Turn on theunit.

DC 3V

If the AC adaptoris connected whenregular batteries are

installed, the unitautomatically switches to the AC

adaptor power and thebatteries are notused.

Make sure thepolarity of the ACadaptor suits yourunit

before plugging itinto the AC poweroutlet, the correct

mark is as follows:

External power supply canbe chosen from 3Vto 5V.

If battery leakage occurs,wipe the battery compartment

with a soft clothbefore inserting the newones.

When power supply isweak, weak power indicator flashes,

meanwhile the unit worksdisorderly and the soundsbecomes

distorted. If you wantto continue listening, pleasereduce the

voice or replace thebatteries with new ones.

WEAK POWER INDICATOR

Even if the voiceis low or inclock mode, weak power

indicator still flashes, pleasereplace the batterieswith

new ones immediately toavoid battery leakage.

When the unit isin lock status,

lock indicator appears inthe

display. None ofthe buttons

except LIGHT,MONO / STand

RESET will work.

LOCK FUNCTION

Slide the LOCK switch in the

opposite direction of thearrow

to unlock the controls.

Lock function preventthe unit from short,accidental

button press.

It is useful toprevent:

1) Poweringon accidentally whichcan cause battery wasted.

2) Reception being broken off unexpectedlywhile listening.

To meetyour listening requirement

in different countries,MW step

switch is added.

Push MW stepswitch to 9K or

10K according to thefollowing,

MW STEP SWITCH

After changing MW step, press RESET to enable the setting.

MW step is setin 9K position before using.

9K: China, Europe, Africaetc.

10K: USA, Canada etc.

After listening, press POWERON OFF to turnoff the unit.

1. Power On / Off

Press POWER ON OFF to turn on theunit manually, theunit

will receive the lastchannel you ever heard.

2. Alarm

Push ALARM ON/OFF , LCD in alarmset mode for 3seconds,

after then indicates inthe display, alarmfunction is on and

the unit will turnon automatically at thepresetting time.

ALARM CLOCK SETTING:refer to page10.

Press POWER ON OFF to turn offthe unit. As youcan see,

still indicates inthe display, timer function isstill on. Alarm

set is available onlyone time.

Toturn off alarm function,please refer topage 11.

3. Sleep

Press SLEEP toturn on the unit,default sleep time of90

minutes indicates in thedisplay.

While 90 indicates inthe display, setthe desired sleep timeby

pressing SLEEP circularly, sleep time ischangeable from 10

to 90 minutes.

After adjusting, release allbuttons for 4 seconds,the unit

enters sleep mode and indicates in the display.

When sleep time setting is over, indicates in the display,sleep

function on. The unitwill shut off automatically after the

adjusted sleep time.

Toquit from sleep modebut listening to the broadcast innormal

mode, press SLEEP , in the displaywill disappear and

sleep mode is cancel.

Toreset sleep timewhen listening, please turn off sleep function

firstly, thenreset sleep timeas mentioned above.

Press BAND button repeatedlyto select FM, MW, SW,the

corresponding band indicator willshow in the display.

TUNING IN TO A STATION

1. Manual Tuning

Press SCAN button(+ /- ) to tune into a clear

reception.

Manual tuning is more suitable for weaksignal broadcast.

2. Seek Tuning

Keep SCAN button (+ / - ) presseduntil frequency indicator

changes, the unit startsto tune in tothe stations automatically.

When a station istuned in, scanning stopsand the tuned stationis

heard.

Seek tuning is more suitable for strongsignal broadcast,

it may not stopif broadcast signals are weak.

If tuning become slowly in a frequency range, try manual

tuning to see ifthere are someweak stations.

If there isa station you wish to skip duringscanning, press and

hold SCAN button(+ or- ) toskip this station.

Press SCAN (+ or- ) buttonwhile seek tuning, scanning

will stop immediately.

Press BAND to selectthe desired band.

Press the preset number(0..9)to tune in tothe preset station.The

frequency and preset numbershow in the display.

There are 30memories, 10 each assignedto FM, MW, SW with

preset number 0...9.

Direct frequency entrymakes it extremelyeasy to tune into a

station if you knowsits exact frequency.

Press BAND to selectthe desired

band.

FM, display is blankfor you to enter

the frequency for 10s.

Enter the frequency numberswith

0...9.

Press AM INbutton or FM INbutton

again, the tuned stationis heard.

If entering frequencyis not valid inthe band frequency

range, indicate in the display.

with manual tuning, seek

tuning or direct entry.

Press STORE button ,

"MEMO" flashes in the

display.

Press a preset number to

memorize the station.The

corresponding number will

indicate in the display.

If you can notcomplete step 3 and step 4 whilethe

indicator flashes, presettingis failed. You have to

repeat from step1.

If a station isalready stored, thenew station with the

same preset numberreplaces the oldone.

Press STORE buttonagain.

ALARM OPERATION

1.Set Alarm Time

Press ALARM intoalarm setting mode,ALARM INDICATOR

will flash for about3 seconds.

2.Turn OffAlarm Function

Press HOUR(+) or MINUTE(-) to adjust the

alarm time whenALARM INDICATOR flashes.

Release all buttons, theunit enter alarm mode

after 3 seconds.

Press ALARM ,alarmtime

flashes for 3 seconds.

Press ALARM again,alarm

function is cancelled.

CLOCK OPERATION

You canpresent clock1 and clock2in 24 hour formatrespectively.

Turn off theunit, press CLOCK SELECT circularly to select clock1

or clock2.

Press + to adjusthour

and - to adjustminute.

seconds to store the

setting.

VOLUME CONTROL

Adjust volume usingVOL ,

keep the volume ata moderate level.

If the unit operateserratically, press

RESET to resumenormal operation. Note

that reset will eraseall of the memories

including clock setting.

LISTENING WITH EARPHONES

When listening to stereoreception,

normally use earphones andset

MONO / STEREO toSTEREO.

Speaker has MONO effectonly.

MONO / STEREO

When listening to astereo reception,

normally set MONO /STEREO to

STEREO. If the stereoreception is too

weak or noisy, set the selectorto MONO.

MONO: weak signalbroadcast, voice program,

mono broadcast.

STEREO: strong signal broadcast,music,

FM Stereo broadcast.

Press and hold LIGHTbutton to

lighten the display whennecessary.

Light consumes a lotof power,just use it asnecessary!

USING FOLDING FLAKE

Inset folding flake intothe slot in

rear panel, extending thetelescopic

antenna straight upward.

USING ANTENNA

(MW)

Telescopic antennafunctions

as FM antenna, keepit extended

and change its lengthand

direction to find theposition

which gives the bestreception.

Magnetic antenna inside theunit functions as MWantenna, it is

strongly effected bythe reception direction.

When listening to MWbroadcast, reorient the unitto find the

position which gives thebest reception.
