NOTE! If Link Hub (440030) and WarmUp Link (440036) are
already installed in the vehicle and GPS Link (440037) is to be
installed afterwards, then there is no need to use the wire harness
that follows with 440037. In this case the GPS module is plugged
into Link Hub and positioned as described in this manual before the
subscription is upgraded via the DEFA Link installer account.
The DEFA Link installer account is found on defa.com -> Log in ->
DEFA Link installer account.
INSTALLATION OF LINK HUB (440030) AND
GPS LINK (440037) NOTE! Create a customer account, or
check that customer account is created before the installation of
Link Hub takes place. This to ensure that the customer has a Link
compatible phone, correct invoice address and has approved the
subscription conditions. (Create or check if the customer account
is established via DEFA Link installer account).
• Place the Link Hub unit under the dashboard or in another
suitable place inside the compartment of the vehicle and
secure with cable ties.
• GSM antenna (see fig.3.) must be placed as high and free
from obstruction as possible and not in the immediate
vicinity of metal, other electronic equipment or wires.
The positioning of the antenna will have a large part in
the quality of the GSM/GPRS signal strength.

• To avoid water or condensation from following the wires
into the unit, Link Hub should be positioned
with the connectors pointing downwards.
• The GPS module should be positioned so that
there is «clear sight» to the sky and fastened with
double sided tape. The module must not be screened from
the satellites by metallic material and the LED should point
upwards (see fig.2). The normal position for the unit is
under the dashboard inside the vehicle.
Alternative positions might be on top of the dashboard or
on the windscreen. Because the GPS module is waterproof
it can be placed outside of the vehicle compartment, for
example on the outside of the windscreen.
• Connect the GPS module to the connector
marked «GPS» on the Link Hub unit.
• Connect the cable as shown in fig.1. and place the fuse
securely in the fuse holder.
• The PWR LED (see fig.3.) indicates that
power is connected.
• The GSM LED (see fig.3.) will not be illuminated if the unit
is placed outside GSM/GPRS coverage (normally the GSM
LED will be illuminated within the first five minutes after
power is connected).
• The PWR LED and the GSM LED will turn off
30 minutes after power is connected and
GSM/GPRS contact is obtained.

• The GPS LED on Link Hub (see. fig.3.) turns on when the
GPS module has contact with the satellites and will turn off
30 minutes after that.
• The LED on the GPS module will turn on when the
GPS module is activated and blinks when in contact
with the satellites.
• Ensure that the LEDs on Link Hub are lit/blinking as they
should before the vehicle is reassembled.
• Upgrade customer subscription via
DEFA Link installer account.
IMPORTANT! Before delivery to customer:
Ensure that the system is tested and the customer
informed on how to use the system.
• PWR connector, pin 1, RED (red wire):
+ 12V. Connect to battery + pole (5A fuse).
• PWR connector, pin 2, BLK (black wire):
Earth. -12V. Connect to battery – pole.
• PWR connector, pin 3, BLU (blue wire).
Ignition. Connect to vehicles ignition signal (terminal 15).
Connection of the blue wire is optional. Insulate the wire
end if not connected.

MERK! Er det allerede installert Link Hub (440030) og
WarmUp Link (440036) i kjøretøyet og GPS Link (440037) skal
ettermonteres, benyttes ikke ledningsnettet som følger med
440037. I dette tilfellet skal GPS-modulen kobles til Link Hub
og plasseres som beskrevet i denne anvisning før abonnementet
utvides via DEFA Link installatørkonto.

MONTERING AV LINK HUB (440030) OG GPS LINK
(440037) MERK! Opprett kundekonto, eller sjekk at
kundekonto er opprettet før enhetene installeres i kjøretøyet.
Dette for å sikre at kunden har Link-kompatibel telefon,
gyldig fakturaadresse og har godkjent
abonnementsvilkårene. (Opprett eller sjekk om kundekonto er
opprettet via DEFA Link installatørkonto).
• Plasser Link Hub-enheten under dashbordet eller en
annen passende plass i bilens kupé og fest med strips.
• GSM-antennen (se fig.3.) må plasseres så høyt og
fritt som mulig og ikke i umiddelbar nærhet av metall,
elektronikkenheter eller ledninger.
Antennens plassering vil i stor grad kunne påvirke
GSM/GPRS signalstyrken.
• For å unngå at vann eller kondens følger
ledningene inn i enheten skal Link Hub plasseres med
kontaktene pekende nedover.

• GPS-modulen plasseres slik at den har «klar sikt» mot
himmelen og festes med tosidig tape.
Den må ikke skjermes fra satellittene av metallisk
materiale, lysdioden skal peke opp (se fig.2).
Normalt plasseres enheten under kjøretøyets dashbord.
Alternative plasseringer er oppe på dashbordet, egnet sted
på (front)rute el. GPS-modulen kan også plasseres utenfor
kjøretøyets kupé da den er vanntett (IP 67), f.eks. på
utsiden av kjøretøyets frontrute.
• Koble GPS-modulen til kontakten merket «GPS» på
Link Hub-enheten.
• Koble ledningene som vist i figur 1 og plasser
sikringen i sikringsholderen.
• PWR-lysdioden (se fig.3.) indikerer at Link Hub har strøm.
• GSM-lysdioden (se fig.3.) lyser ikke dersom enheten er
plassert utenfor GSM/GPRS dekning (normalt skal
GSM-lysdioden begynne å lyse innen de fem første
minuttene etter at strøm er tilkoblet).
• PWR- og GSM-lysdiodene slukker 30 minutter etter at
strøm er tilkoblet og GSM/GPRS kontakt er oppnådd.
• Lysdioden merket «GPS» på Link Hub (se. Fig.3.)
lyser når GPS-modulen har kontakt med satellittene og
slukker så etter 30 minutter.
• Lysdioden på GPS-modulen lyser når GPS-modulen er
aktivert og blinker når den har kontakt med satellittene.
• Forsikre deg om at lysdiodene på Link Hub lyser/blinker
som de skal før kjøretøyet skrus sammen.
